Oh Boy. Bad news for porn valley and L.A.

http://www.wunderground.com/US/CA/Chatsworth.html

Supposed to be one of the worst storms in years.

baddog 01-03-2008 10:59 PM

Rain is bad news?

seeric 01-03-2008 11:00 PM

I doubt LA will have much in the way of mudslides :winkwink: The Valley . . . well, that was inevitable.

XXXJay, have you bought sand bags yet?

seeric 01-03-2008 11:04 PM

yes. my first thought was jays issue last big storm. the other is all those areas where the fires have destroyed all the foliage and landscaping from all those areas in malibu and the OC.

:(

:(

The thing is, that "storm" was a poor excuse for a storm. I was talking to a friend in Santa Rosa yesterday and they were getting ready for 6" of rain. If we get 2" Jay is going to be one pissed off webmaster.

seeric 01-03-2008 11:10 PM

jay can call me for sandbag duty if needed.

lets hope i'm not wielding a shovel this weekend.

:(

if I were him I would not be waiting around. I would be at Home Depot buying bags, maybe some plastic and a couple shovels. Then I would head to the beach.

seeric 01-03-2008 11:16 PM

well i dont know if he knows theres a mad storm coming so i texted him and icq.

The Adult Broker 01-03-2008 11:17 PM

My friend is driving back from Lake Tahoe, they had winds up to 140mph on the mountain they said and 10ft of snow. The storm coming to LA is worrisome because of the fire damaged areas.

I'm camping in with movies, popcorn, oh yea and computer as well.

seeric 01-03-2008 11:20 PM

yes, i am going outside to build ark now.

seeric 01-03-2008 11:24 PM

the news is telling people from the BOO to evacuate. especially the ones in the canyons.

qxm 01-03-2008 11:25 PM

........dam we're gonna get soaked.... I need to get me a boat to get around NoHo.....

I believe we had slightly more than 1/2" over that entire weekend. Wait until it really rains. It does happen. If I was Jay, I would be getting plastic ready to cover those slopes.

he's got a heavy duty retaining wall rocking now since the last rains. Hopefully it does it job and the entire backyard doesn't becaome a muddy swimming pool again

seeric 01-04-2008 01:13 AM

steve get ready to get me and get on bucket brigade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and i am bulding an ark too.

we can have party inside.

Shoehorn! 01-04-2008 01:15 AM

It's been raining here since October.

D 01-04-2008 01:17 AM

Well... we got the cold weather already... maybe the front'll pass us by without so much in the way of street-surfing.

:Oh crap :Oh crap

Besides the mudslides, I think that's what sucks the most about heavy rain around here... damn streets have no real drainage on them and each turn into little rivers.

I think you are standing in the shower. There should be some controls on the wall in front of you that will allow you to make that stop.

saltricter 01-04-2008 01:24 AM

rain hardly ever fucks up the valley. i've lived here for 26 years.

I abso-fucking-lutely hate the rain :( :( :(

The winds have been ridiculous the last few weeks at my place in Woodland Hills...I feel an introverted future for the next couple of months

You weren't here for El Nino? That was fun, especially since my only source of transportation was a motorcycle.

Big Red Machine 01-04-2008 02:12 PM

Good Luck to everyone in that area

Hasn't started raining yet, but you know it will. I used the opportunity to move a sufficient supply of firewood closer to the back door.

seeric 01-04-2008 02:22 PM

the ark is almost done.

I was, and wasn't happy about that either. Rain/cold/wind/snow do not mix well with me.

fatfoo 01-04-2008 03:10 PM

I take comfort in the fact that Airek is here to keep me informed on what is going on outside.

I feel much safer now.

I am beginning to think that this storm is a false alarm.

We got a little drizzle but that is all. Not even enough to make the streets wet.

Rochard 01-04-2008 04:23 PM

The storm hit Northern California this morning. Massive rain, and winds gusting up to 80mph. I've never seen such a thing. Destroyed my back yard, taking out three good sized trees, and I was without power from 10am until 2pm which totally sucked.

Here's one of my three trees.....

Swish 01-04-2008 05:45 PM

I am El Niño... spanish for The Niño!

Socks 01-04-2008 05:46 PM

Make sure you yell at your trees for being fucking pansies before you chainsaw them, roc. ;)
