Playstation 3 OWNERS! Inside Please - Getting Online ??

Just got my PS3 at Christmas, haven't had much time with it, completed Call of Duty 4 in 2 days tho (totally love it)

How easy is it to get your PS3 online so I can play my friend (ScottMcD who posts here) online at FIFA 08, COD4 and Sega Rally etc?

Haven't looked into it yet, figuered I'd be lazy and ask you guys for help. Much appreciated!

I have 2 ps3's. I really only use them for blu rays but I did play resistance online. Just get it connected to the internet via wired or wireless and go thru the on screen menus. Its actually very simple. Especially for a webmaster. Did you really have to ask this?

Plug in an Ethernet cable.

Yes, it's that easy.

I kinda thought it would be easy, but when I was in a store a couple months back with Scott McD the guy told us that the PS3 had built in wireless and all you needed was a wireless connection in your house. I know thats not true, not really sure why he told us that tho.

Anyway, I'm sure I can get it connected very easily, I keep forgetting to mess about with it when I'm downstairs tho so thought while I was working I'd ask here. Gonna give it a try in 10 mins.

The ps3 does have built in wireless so it IS true.

I can't stop playing Call Of Duty 4 online. ADDICTED!

Ross 01-04-2008 04:22 AM

I got it online, took me 5 mins at the most, then had to do some updates. It does indeed have wireless built in and it found my router with no problems after messing about with the settings.

So thats me online, if anyone wants to do some gaming let me know. I'd be interested in playing Call of Duty 4 with a few of you.

I have mine plugged right in and got online right away. I actually had no idea it was wireless capable. Call of Duty 4 was amazing beat in a few days. Now I am playing Assassins Creed and am totally hooked! This game and system is amazing, however I am finding a few glitches in Assassins Creed but it still is suck a great game!:thumbsup
