Not in a million years! 6 months ago I would have paid big bucks for SEO, because I didn't have a clue what I was doing.

The best thing to do is learn. Check out seobook.com!

It really comes down to cost vs profits. Will you make more than you invested back? If so can a guarantee your site will stay ranked for a specific amount of time if it falls by a large amount will they go back to work on it?

Would I pay for something like that? Not likely, but doesn't mean there isn't a real value in it? Probably not. They would have to have a damn good reputation too for me to even consider anything like that.

It just comes down to profit vs cost in the long run and risk vs reward.

Depends what you want done, and what the outcome will be.. I think its worth it. Nothin is free

Viper.X08 01-03-2008 11:30 AM

You may look on their previous job. SEO is not just that simple that you can learn in an instant, it needs time and experience. Same as the other job.

I know a great deal about SEO and am very successful with it. My site is on front pages of all 3 major search engines for competitive keywords such as:

nude photography
erotic photography
erotic photos
nude
nude gallery
erotic nudes
erotic nude
erotic photo
nude art
erotic photographs

For the record, my site has ranked there for a year - hence it's not a one temporary trick, or "got lucky" type of shit. However, even though I know all about SEO and my results are likely better than any "experts" results, I would never dare to take anyone's money for this type of service. SEO is an ever evolving industry that changes all the time and there really are no guarantees. Furthermore, once you get a good grip of things and know how to achieve results, you're going to do what I do - you make your own sites rank high and will not want to drag somebody else to rank above you.

Take what I have said any way you want. There is no direct point in it, but I would never pay any money to any so called SEO expert. Companies who are able to rank high for such keywords as "Nude Photography Scotland" are worth a shit. That is not a difficult phrase to rank high for. Try generic one, like "Nude Photography" and if you can do that, and stay on top for months, then you likely know what you are doing. But if you are this good, why wouldn't you put your own site up there and benefit from it yourself???

Just a food for thought, nothing else.

Here's something to think about:

The problem with hiring a SEO person/firm is how they charge for their services. Typically they'll charge you a monthly fee and whatever results you get are what you get. No guarantees.

Now, take a look at Goog;le AdWords. Their formula is great. You know going in exactly what you're going to get and how much it's going to cost. The problem there is the Cost Per Click you pay is going to be significantly higher than you might be comfortable paying.

Well, we have solved these problems.

Announcing the industry's first marketing program that combines the best elements of SEO with PPC.

We'll get you Top-Ranked for the keywords necessary to hit your target number of clicks for one all-inclusive fee.

Depending on how many clicks you want you pay from ONE - TWO CENTS PER CLICK -- based on a 12 month subscription to our service.

Our program is broken down into two phases:

PHASE 1 -- START UP -- This lasts 3 - 6 months. You'll select the amount of clicks you want (From 1MM - 5MM) and we'll keep your site moving up the rankings until we hit that target.

PHASE 2 -- MAINTENANCE MODE -- Once your site is TOP-RANKED your cost for PPC drops substantially and you'll be assured of receiving the target number of clicks month after month.

If we ever get you too few clicks in a month, the difference will be ROLLED-OVER for the next month. If we get you an EXCESS of clicks, there is NO EXTRA CHARGE.

NOTE:

We have clients ranked for many of the MOST SOUGHT AFTER KEYWORDS. Terms that get MILLIONS OF SEARCHES a month each. We'll gladly go over this with you privately if interested.

GUARANTEE:

We guarantee the following:

--- We will get you the target number of search engine clicks, whatever it takes.

--- All traffic is 100% SEARCHED AND CLICKED by the surfer.

--- Our fees are all-inclusive. No 'extras'

My 2 cents...

Figure it out on your own for the first 6mos - 1yr. If you're not happy with the results then hire a reputable SEO firm that has experience in that industry.

SiZzLe 01-10-2008 08:52 AM

That's too much! You can contact me and we might help you out :)

officegirl2006 01-10-2008 10:11 AM

i say go learn and do it yourself, the rewards can be just as good a laying out many 1000's of dollars.

i think it depends on your expectations in what you are selling.

its a highly competitive market we operate in with low signups to click thrus than say a conventional website selling services or goods.
there are a lot of people out there looking for a free ride...

just my 2cents

There is only one person in here with a clue, im not saying he's a master but he has posted that he has results and posted what they are. (pornask)

The rest of them are all full of shit. SEO isnt something you do for others to make money since your own stuff isnt correct and earning.

All i can say to the original thread starter is.
  • 1. None of the people above who said they can do it for you can. (the ppc ads may be the exception, but you didnt ask for PPC solutions, and PPC results are NOT SEO.) I can tell you this honestly, i watch the ranks all day, everyday, and these arent the players.
  • 2. Before you even blink an eye for anyone, have them send you search results with their work, and what they have listed in the engines. Ensure the domains are indeed thiers, and check the serp history on those domains, to see if its a fluke one time thing.
  • 3. Someone showing you their "clients" results. Stop talking to, you want to see results they have for thier stuff. What they did on someone elses stuff with someone elses resources has nothing to do with your site and what you have, or with what they have to bring to the table. Unless that client is offering you their resources, which wont happen.
  • 4. Dont pay anyone that shows you long tail search terms like "barbie cummings suck the black wang" One nicely placed link will give someone that, and too easily done by accident. If they cant show you a big term, they arent worth paying. "Milfs, Big Cocks, fetish, free porn, black porn, gay porn, THOSE ARE KEYWORDS TO RANK FOR, not ""cocking milfs buttfucked backwards"
  • 5. When you find someone who actually knows. Best be ready to go ahead with the deal and be prepared to pay. If they do have a clue, the chances of them helping you for a fee isnt very high, and if they do, they will expect just compensation. Some of my terms made high 5 figures since the sites went live so its not info a seo would be happy to give away for 2-3k.
  • 6. Expect a backlink/site developement budget. If you plan on taking on a project and expect to take search engine ranks away from big boys, then you will need a network to do so. If not from your own neighbourhood, then from link purchase. This isnt a one time, monthly thing, you will want them longterm. $$$
  • 7. Know what you want. And know what the person you are willing to pay big dollars too wants and is capable of. Know what hes linking with, know what he is building pages with, take note of everything he did on his sites, and on your sites.
  • 8. Again, if they dont have results on their own shit to show you, they dont have a fucking clue and want to charge you to do shit to your sites they cant even do to their own.
People think im crazy when i say that their is only about 10-15 people who really understand SEO in adult.

Well, call me fucking crazy, good luck getting on of them to hook you up. Anybody else is worth at best 8$ an hour.
