Why would I want a card that is only locked in with one chain of hotels?

free hotel stays at a more attractive rate than with other reward programs?

Why be restricted?

I looked at it, but ended up just getting the amex gold. I like the no limit deal on it

I have the black which gives starwood gold status. Used to be platinum, but got bumped down. Starwood hotels are generally nice, so it can be useful. I got $800 worth of room upgrades last week in London.

BTW, for business expenses the blue cash and plum are the best. Which one is better depends on your spending though.

So who has it?

The StarWood amex pays the most starpoints per dollar spent. I run a lot of PPC campaigns and could manage to stay the whole year in hotels around the world for $0 by using the points i get from PPC spendings.

Problem: I'm not an US citizen and can't get this card. There are ways around it, but I'd like to talk with a card owner before.
