Reasonable rate for (non-cam) chatroom flirt employees?
 

What do you folks think is a ballpark reasonable hourly rate to pay someone to hang out in a members chatroom during less than peek hours to make sure people have someone sexy to talk to? This would be a non-cam position, just someone there to talk to lonely members who might not be getting the love they need. Potentially including some admin responsibilities like keeping an eye out for illegal/questionable activities and such. :)

Would they be permitted to do other things or are they forced to stay there and chat in that room?

I'm sure we could keep them busy on there. It would be more proactive than a standard web support position.

That would be a dollar below minimum wage here tomorrow (Jan 1, 2008) so I think we'd have to go outside the state or country for that matter to pay that little these days. That is certainly an option though. Essentially, you're saying that it doesn't sound like a particularly high paying position, yes?

This is what most people dont get. The more you pay the more you get. Try paying someone 7 bucks an hour and they will be on breaks and skip out early and you name it. Id pay a minimum of 10 if you want the job done right.

~8-10 an hour. Can outsource it at ~5-6.

Sadly, we live in a mindless world where everyone is desperate for any amount of money. Even if it is $7.

I pretty much agree on that point of view. The question wasn't how little could someone get away with paying, but what would be a reasonable range. The early conclusion being that even on the high end, so far it's looking like 10 to 11 would be a reasonable starting range.

I'd say $10/hour. That's a pretty good pay. Especially since they can work from home.

I have the perfect solution at our office.

We have some of the nets top cam models working here 24/7,due to doing many XXX shows a girl can only work so many shifts (physically)but they would be ideal for chatting etc.
