What are the benefits of transferring my domain names?

I have 12 domain names that come up for renewal next year. I have had them registered with domainnamesystems.com from the beginning. Is there a benefit or transferring my domain names elsewhere? If so, why?

Kevsh 12-31-2007 09:01 AM

A domain pro will probably be by any minute to answer that for you...
But why exactly do you want to move them?

FredIsMe 12-31-2007 09:10 AM

I placed mine all on NameCheap. I did so because i enjoy their system and service.

It's not that I want to move them, but I was wondering if there were any benefits of moving them.

If you are satisfied and confident with the stability of where your domains are then leave them, if not, then move them.

MaDalton 12-31-2007 09:32 AM

benefits? usually not, they all cost more or less the same everywhere. as long as the current service is fine you just put yourself in danger that something goes wrong and your domains are not accessible.

Mutt 12-31-2007 09:35 AM

nobody asked her to show her tits :Oh crap

Mike Semen 12-31-2007 09:37 AM

price or a better control panel are usually reasons to swap registrars

I'm sure most people here have seen them by now. But they're always nice for an encore.

Klen 12-31-2007 09:47 AM

Bulk price if you have a lot's of domains.

boneprone 12-31-2007 09:53 AM

E-mail me...it's the same address as before.

Why 12-31-2007 10:49 AM

main reasons to move would be better pricing and/or more user friendly systems.

Daruma 12-31-2007 10:52 AM

if your paying more than $8 a year - your paying too much..

So do I thats the only place I ever bought my domains

boneprone 12-31-2007 11:04 AM

Id go with one that has a good reputation and not becasue they are cheap. Someone who has a good track record in the industry is also important with the current and future political pressures facing the industry are also things to consider.

Many are moving to off shores registars. Being you are in adult you are never far within reach of US obscenity laws if they wanted to make your life tough.

boneprone 12-31-2007 11:05 AM

With that said my wife says hello. Hope to see you in January. Maybe for a dinner again.

~Ray 12-31-2007 11:11 AM

if you move registrars... it COULD affect your se ranking.

not saying it will. the bots seem to prefer stability.

DjiXas 12-31-2007 11:14 AM

Check http://www.lotosus.com got some special deals for transfers.

shuki 12-31-2007 11:57 AM

Aria,

The only place I would move them to would be Moniker.com :2 cents:

2012 12-31-2007 12:00 PM

for z better pricing $

DaddyHalbucks 12-31-2007 12:02 PM

If you consider your domains to be valuable assets, as I do, then you want a secure registrar. A good registrar will lock down your domains and prevent domain thefts.

For this, I recommend Moniker.

:thumbsup

AriaGiovanni 12-31-2007 12:22 PM

What are the good companies to go with as far as transferring domains? I have heard Moniker mentioned twice on this thread and I have spoken to Bari about this before at a show. Just wondering what are the good options.

2012 12-31-2007 12:27 PM

domainmonger.com <-- been around for years. no problem with porn domains ... very reliable and great dns services ... but ... $17.00/year

webair 12-31-2007 12:57 PM

$7.49 per domain with webair.com ICANN ACCREDITED REGISTRAR. =) Shit if it's Aria i'll transfer & register them for you free! =))

pip 12-31-2007 01:02 PM

Moniker for sure

GTS Mark 12-31-2007 01:04 PM

you are a one man spamming machine lol

Stay with domainnamesystems Aria. I have had hundreds of domains there for years and never had a single problem. I have tried every registrar and imho you cant beat DNS. The couple of bucks you might save somewhere else is not worth it. :2 cents:

vipmedia 12-31-2007 02:36 PM

sell me your names :)

i have close to 1000 domains registered with godaddy, i have my rep's number in my phone, i can call their support 24 hours a day. never one mistake on billing, renewals or transfers. 7 bucks per domain. not sure what people are talking about when they trash godaddy.

If I have one complaint about them it is their eagerness to help . . . which has resulted in them calling me earlier than I wanted to wake up.

Socks 12-31-2007 02:52 PM

Hrmmmmmmmm I'm only seeing benefits if you transfer them to me...

Seriously don't use godaddy the customer service sucks. Moniker for the win. You can chat with the moniker guys at the webmaster conventions you go to.
