Could we be in a "Matrix"?
Could we be in a "Matrix"? Plugged into a virtual reality?
Could, say 100 years ago, virtual reality was 100 years beyond what it is today (plugged into a computer with tactile senses . . .) and then someone developed a VR "Sims" game that kept us all plugged in? It is "odd" that the Sun is at JUST the right distance from the Earth, and that everything occurs in a cycle, and that nothing is created nor destroyed, only transformed . . . |
I think it's time to close your youtube tab, put the mouse back on it's charger and step away from the computer.

You are talking in circles and not really even making any sense at this point. But you won't believe me because your head is swimming in some vids that you just watched and you're having a hard time sorting it all out. Don't get so defensive. It's good to question things. It's good to keep an open mind. But having an open mind means hearing more than just one side to a story. And it also means not getting so emotionally charged that you stop listening to anyone other than those who say what you want to hear. |
I hope not. The Matrix sucked balls...

YES, we are:upsidedow

I think we're in a matrix that's in a matrix of a matrix.

Have you seen this?
http://www.simulation-argument.com/ Basically, if we as a society can make "the matrix" aka a simulation with people in it that are no different from real people, the odds are, we are living in a simulation. Yea but seriously, step back from your computer! |

But serriously, I dont think so. Even tho it might just be possible. I simply refuse to belive as something like that would just piss me off :disgust |
arguments in this thread are very persuasive.....

Isn't it odd too, that out of each individual sperm from Your dad, *YOU* popped out..? I don't think anything is pre-determined, everything is more or less in chaos and gives very, very random end results due to the complexity of all chains of events etc. Or less random when "chaos isolation" has ocurred over time. That idea seems hard for many people to accept, I can't see why really. Also, everything is cyclic by nature, because there's an infinite variation of energy, matter and scale - everything "swings" if You will... Any cycle You pick is just a variation due to all factors adding to cemplexity. In a universe aspect, the likelihood of becoming a complete human being here on earth, is ridiculously small... but becomes greater due to "chaos isolation"! The way I see it, our roots are in the randomness itself of the universe... but our planet has been "stable", in "chaos isolation" for long enough for us to be here. We are humans on a planet full of life thanks to a lot of random shit that happened shitloads of time ago. Thanks to all that, You're ancestors became human beings and You're not a fragment of a rock, or a tree/whatever, in another galaxy. Infinity + randomness + energy/waveforms/"unknown least common denominating entity", that's my explanation to life and everything.. mad science, lol :thumbsup |
BTW:
You wrote "and that nothing is created nor destroyed, only transformed . . ."... Well, You're kind of on to my own beliefs there... You know what they say about E N E R G Y in physics, right..? :winkwink: |
If this is the Matrix then I'm pissed at the programmers because my programed life has kind of sucked so far. WTF did Bill Gates or Brad Pitt do to ge their good prgramming? What, thier bodies make better tasting battery juice or something?

I hear people are theorizing already that one day before we die we will upload our brain to Second Life, and live in eternal bliss in the game.
