paypal and porn

how can many of you use PAYPAL ... i thought they totally refuse to do adult business ... they already closed my account several times

reelgirlz 12-29-2007 04:11 AM

Generally yes but i think the way round is to provide a service that can be used for any purpose, like domain registering. You can register an adult sounding domain but thats not against the rules because its open to interpretation. Straighforward porn buying is not subject to interpretation however so not allowed.

timoxxl2 12-29-2007 04:21 AM

there are affiliate programs that offer paypal payout ... i think there isnt any space for interpretation ... is it?

Not many and when Paypal find out they usually get shut down

Paypal and Adult stopped being compatible years ago, don't try and mix them dude, it will only cause you headaches

mynameisyep 12-29-2007 05:38 AM

I'm not sure but I guess paypal never allowed adult business.

JimmiDean 12-29-2007 06:46 AM

Paypal allowed adult for years but had no gateway for passwords or user ID.
Once they were taken over by E-bay they dropped adult.
You can get away with it but sooner or later you get caught, they then close your account and in their TOS it says they may fine you up to 500 bucks.
As stated above stay away from them.

Uhm, PayPal did process for adult and they did have a gateway for username/passwords. It was a giant pain to implement. My rep over there pursued me for months to try them out as a processor, gave me a good rate and helped me set things exactly the way I wanted with them. Their tech people were kind of terrible at implementing the system, once I decided to go with it. Then we had it live for maybe a month or a month and a half and they pulled out of adult and killed all my rebills. At least they gave me a settlement for the damage they caused, although admittedly, in my opinion, nothing like what they cost me.

pangolin 12-29-2007 02:07 PM

Paypal will process payment for adult tangibles if you are a US based corp only on a case by case basis and never memberships and downloads.

I asked after I saw adam and eve using them and thats what they told me.

"PayPal allows U.S. only transactions for certain sexually oriented physical goods, such as videos, DVDs, magazines, or other products physically delivered to the customer."

"PayPal prohibits all account holders from buying or selling sexually oriented digital goods, including downloadable pictures or videos, subscriptions to websites, or other content delivered through a digital medium."

just don't use not allowed words in your transactions and all will be great

Your right - we had this installed at Lightspeed Cash many years ago. A short time later they pulled out without warning - those bastards.

The business about allowing adult dvds only came about in the past few weeks. It was traumatic enough to bidpay's business that they shut down on 12-25. About 5 months ago they started allowed adult sex toys. So they are rejoining the 21st Century, it would seem.
