What a mistake, went years without getting the flu, always got the shot, this year I didn't....... today I am sick as a fucking dog, knees ache, throat sore, head sore, chills

I believe in them, people were getting sick around me last year and I never got it, this year I have been able to fight it off mostly but it finally got me and I'm sitting here wearing 3 shirts and 2 coats and a blanket.

I think the flu shot kicks your immune system into action, maybe it doesn't make you immune but they work for me as far as I can tell

You should start taking vitamins, juicing your fruits and veggies. Drink green tea, eat in moderation, drink a big glass of red wine daily. Stay away from processed foods and trans fatty stuff.

I stopped getting them about 10 years ago when my doctor told me that they are a scam. The flu virus mutates fast and is different almost every year. The flu shot they give you this year are for last year's flu so it's level of effectiveness is lower than it should be to work properly. For some people that have naturally low immune systems they can help because it gives you the virus in a small dose and helps you learn to fight it, but for many it doesn't do much of anything other than give you a reason to go to the doctor and pay whatever company made the shot and possibly get the flu. If you have a reasonable healthy diet, wash your hands with soap a few times a day and are in decent health you can avoid the flu better than any shot would.

I used to get the flu about once a year and was told the shot helped make it not as bad as it would have been. In the 10 years since I stopped taking it I have gotten it once.

I hate the flu shot. I have to get one every year because of the offline business that my family is in. (healthcare) I can almost feel the thing poisoning me.

I have actually gotten sick every year within a week of getting the flu shot. This is the first year I have not gotten sick after the flu shot, but I just got it last Thursday so I'm sure I probably still will.

I hear they put some nasty shit in it that is basically like mercury.

I've only done it once. For me it didn't seem to make any difference. I still got the flu as bad as I normally do. Any more I just stock a ton of Zicam at the start of the cold/flu season and hope for the best.

I think the last time I had a flu shot was when I was required to when I was in high school. Fuck that shit, causes more problems then it solves.

I think they have picked the right strain of flu something like 1 out of the last 6 years. Not sure on the exact percentage from what I read but it was extremely poor.
