Go to the doctor or hospital, not something to mess with man

Dirty F 12-27-2007 03:11 PM

Agreed. These are one of the things you dont think about and simply go to a doctor. As in right now. 2 hours from now might already be too late.

Phoenix 12-27-2007 03:11 PM

go see a doctor..chest pain is not something to mess around with

Seriously people have some common sense!

Warning signs are called warning signs for a reason. Consider yourself warned. Let us know what the doctor's say ..... until then only an idiot would be posting on an internet forum.

papill0n 12-27-2007 03:35 PM

what they said ^^

pocketkangaroo 12-27-2007 03:36 PM

You should probably see a doctor just to be safe. If it's been going on for awhile now, it could be just some acid reflux. I had that awhile back and it felt like a heart attack. Nonetheless, the heart is not something to fuck with and I'd go see a doctor right away. They should be able to tell you fairly quickly if these pains are heart related.

Blazed, I'm not being a dick, I'm serious as a heart attack, let us know what the doctor says. Lee

MandyBlake 12-27-2007 03:51 PM

hopefully its just gas, but you should have it checked out.

alpinemelonman 12-27-2007 03:56 PM

Yeah man, go and see a doctor.

JohnnyJames 12-27-2007 04:06 PM

I just got out of the hospital for the same thing, was in for 2 days, starting Christmas afternoon, but worth every horrible moment.

I walked away after a bunch of tests with a diagnosis that is happily one I can resolve fast and easy, a little excercise and so on.

My BP when I arrived was in the 190/100 range or so.

Do not risk trying to "tough this out". If something really happens, like a heart attack, you will be unable to drive yourself to the hospital, probably unable to reach the telephone.

Go right away. It probably is nothing at all, but you need to be sure.

Turns out I have a heart in better shape than guys 15 years younger, but now I know and can work on a few other health issues.

I can't imagine sitting there wondering through even one night, and you shouldn't either. The sheer psychological aspect of a possible heart issue can elevate your blood pressure and make you nauseous and so on.

Go get it taken care of.

Would you rather risk it at home or in a hospital surrounded by trained medical people?

Trust me. I got back from the hospital 4 hours ago.

L-Pink 12-27-2007 04:08 PM

JohnnyJames, glad you are ok!

ztik 12-27-2007 04:11 PM

I had really really bad chest pains for a few weeks before seeing the doc.
These were getting so bad I would have to lay on the floor and breath heavy just to handle the pain. Turns out it was from stress + not exercising. Started running again and it went away within a week.

Thanks. Me too, and my family. Putr a helluva different spin on what's important, sitting in the ER on Christmas night wondering if I would live to see the morning.

I doubt you will see as much of me in these parts, as I intend to rething my work and family priorities to spend my time far more effectively.

I will still be around, just not wasting my time on Donny Long threads or too many other things that really don't count in the big scheme.

Persius 12-27-2007 04:56 PM

go see a doc

Spunky 12-27-2007 05:05 PM

Were you doing some strenuous exercise?..I had the same thing but pulled a muscle from a rib

Violetta 12-27-2007 05:09 PM

See the doc...

NinjaSteve 12-27-2007 05:38 PM

I hope you don't have heart disease. Pain in the sternum is a sign of heart disease. I hope you have medical insurance.

Tom_PM 12-27-2007 05:45 PM

Yes go see the doctor asap. They'll measure your enzyme levels which would indicate if you had a heart attack or whatnot. When you have a real attack, the heart muscle starts to die, and it gives off this enzyme and it's very simple for them to look at it and tell you. I had one in May, but it was pretty significant so for me it was a 911 call and an ambulance ride. You dont want that now do you?

LFCII 12-27-2007 05:48 PM

You should go see a doctor.

On a side note: I had chest pains about a month ago. I told my wife and she brought home a bacon pizza :(

madfuck 12-27-2007 05:48 PM

just go to the doctor's and c wht thy say...good luck

woj 12-27-2007 05:52 PM

like everyone else said, see a doc, not something you want to mess with...

Was in your position a few weeks ago. 4am in the ER. Although it wasn't anything serious, realized I needed to start taking better care of myself.

Matt 26z 12-27-2007 06:02 PM

I saw the other day on TV where a doctor was saying that when a patient can point to chest pains in a specific area, then it's usually not a heart attack... that a heart attack is felt in a larger general area like an elephant is sitting on your chest.

But also remember there was a guy who posted to GFY about chest pains and he was found dead not long after that.

The only reliable medical advice you'll get here is to go see a doctor. :thumbsup

tony286 12-27-2007 08:33 PM

go to the doctor quickly.

Odin 12-27-2007 09:51 PM

Last time someone posted about similar problems on this forum he was warned to go to the doctor too. It turned out he had a heart attack and died a week later. That's no joke either.

V_RocKs 12-27-2007 10:08 PM

You may have had a mild heart attack. You should go before the markers are out of your system.

JaneB 12-28-2007 01:31 AM

You need to go to the ER. They can do a full work up on you that your regular family doctor can't. It could be something simple like a pulled muscle or it could be something more serious. You really need to go and find out what is causing the pain.

Emil 12-28-2007 05:17 AM

Do you smoke?

EuroRev_Stacey 12-28-2007 05:23 AM

Please go to the DOCTOR as soon as you can coz chest pain is one symptom of sudden hearth attack, also try deep breathing exercise.

Enemator 12-28-2007 05:40 AM

I think he's already dead. Seeing he hasn't responded at all.

minusonebit 12-28-2007 06:01 AM

Yeah, its called a heart attack. Its possible to have one without even knowing it. Go to the ER, the GFY cardiologists have a horrible record for malpractice.

Blazed 12-28-2007 06:51 AM

I went to the hospital shortly after posting turns out it was nothing serious.
They took my blood pressure which was fine and said i could wait 4 hours to be wired up to the ECG so i waited to be sure and it was fine i just needed some gaviscon.
Told me to lay off the white stuff, drink less and take more exercise, which is what ill i do :)

Cyndalie 12-28-2007 07:48 AM

Glad you're ok. Was it heartburn?

IamShaider 12-28-2007 07:58 AM

try going to a cardiologist :) some chest pains are caused by enlargements on the heart, high cholesterol level or hypertension. so better check with the doctor to be sure :pimp

shekinah 12-28-2007 07:59 AM

Felt that even before and it hurts so bad, felt like you're gonna explode any moment... Better solution for this man is to avoid drinking too much acid and have a better rest..That's what I did.

J. Falcon 12-28-2007 08:11 AM

It could also just be gas.

florin 12-28-2007 09:23 AM

see a doctor! asap

sniperwolf 12-28-2007 10:20 AM

yeah, better see a doctor to know what you could do for precautions...
