I think you aught to think about the root cause of the problem. By all means I don't support any of the evil shit done by those who have (and will probably continue to) do so... But I'm sure a lot of it is a reactionary.

Compare the size of US+UN military presence in Chile (or south america rather), Canada versus the Middle East. Do you see a correlation yet? More exterior presence = more hatred towards those who are members of that exterior presence. Simple really.

How would you and your neighbors feel if you had a huge outside military force in your backyard, even if they were telling you that they are there 'to help you live a life of freedom'.
