Rehab?
 

I had the very uncomfortable task of having to try and talk a friend of mine into checking into rehab today.

Without getting into too many details he had a nervous breakdown and basically lost it. He has been drinking at least a fifth of vodka a day and has refused to admit he has problem until today

I am the first to admit that I am the poster child for a binge user and abuser of booze, blow and bimbo's; however I have never seen anyone do what my friend does to himself every day.

Has anyone else had an experience with trying to get a friend who doesn't want to get help, and what did you do to get them check into rehab.

Is he a danger to himself or others ? Then maybe, dont know your not blood if it would work,you can get him committed for 72 hrs. Chances are there is nothing you can do and until he has his moment of clarity its going to be tough.

I already called a couple places and that is what they asked me.

I don't think he would hurt himself or anyone else.

Of all people this is hard for me since I know how much of a fuck up I can be.

Maybe this will be your moment of clarity, the angels work in mysterious ways.:)

I wish I was talking about myself. My body is too old and beat up for me to be able to abuse it daily.

Anyone else tried to get a friend into rehab?

rehab is for quitters

cut him another line and pour him a shot, live it up and let it live!

If he doesn't have enough will to quit, then no other choice.
