WTF do I convert DIVX to for editing in FINAL CUT?
I have a few divx files I have to cut up and edit together, whats the best format to convert them to (something similar in size hopefully) and what can I use to do it on my macbook?
Cheeeers in advance |
avi or mov would be my guess

Divx isn't meant to be edited really, it's a lossy codec. But you could try to make the best of it and convert your Divx videos to AVI or MOV to import them into a full featured editing app like FCP.
For simple edits using only freeware apps you might try messing around with VirtualDub combined with AVISynth www.avisynth.org. AVISynth will decompress your video and frame serve it to VirtualDub on the fly and allow you to manipulate the video however you like and then re-encode the video. |
I know its not best for editing, but I have a stack of divx files in random shapes and sizes I need to cut up and string together..
Software that will simply convert the files into MOV or MPG easily for mac? |
You can use MPEG Streamclip to convert the avi files to a .mov format FCP will recognize. Works like a charm :)
