Just wanted to point it out. I would guess at sometime there was a website or a forum that was hosted in that URL. The original poster was trying to be helpful and post a url of a site that showed off some of the downsides of the script.

With some of the recent witch hunts and Lych mentality shown around here I would hate to see the orignal poster get flameed and you and he have a possible bad relationship that could keep you both from doing biz and possibly making money together all from a simple server config error.

Good luck and happy holidays

teksonline 12-26-2007 06:22 PM

i think i freaked out cuz the file ended in like _com or something

teksonline 12-26-2007 07:01 PM

anyhow, more suggestions please, prefer scripts that support
more than one media type, ie, pictures and videos and not just videos

pictures and video's supported in mine ;) I'll have full gallery support coming in a future release but currently it only supports 1 image per post currently. For only $30 good luck finding something developing faster or supported better. The primary function is hosting video's but it can support ANY filetype.

I never got your ICQ that you said you sent..

Anyhow, i don't really care about price,

I care about 3 things

1. Features we desire working out of the box, to get ideas in our heads quickly flowing forward.
2. Security.. Do you even have a clue about CSS, injection, and all that jazz?
Does it do proper data sanity? I can code this in myself, so long as it aint crap code to being with, thats usually what I am hired for in the first place.
But seriously that should not be the buyers problem. A coder should have this experience under his belt before delivering "commercial apps"
3. Expandable... Can it handle large traffic? whether it being
called content from multiple servers or simply being able to proccess 100's of requests per minute
3. Modable.... Can I alter it to how I want and add/remove features and code i like/hate?

I can look at your script, but in all reality we are not looking for a $30 web script.. We are looking for a quick foundation for a media project we have been sitting on ice... and $250-$1500 is peanuts.. however it appears noone has the experience anymore to be able to deliver a product, because they
have no prior experience to writing web scripts, and quickly die out, or kill themselves with BS copyright protection and other annoyances that are irrelevent to companies "focus"

1) Install is very quick. 1.4.1 had a large round of bug fixes. (haven't had any new reported bugs) I'm currently working on V1.5 but larger sites will want to wait for 1.5.1 to upgrade because I am really adding a LOT of new features so wait a few days after release to get the all clear.

2) addslashes() wasn't enough for me.... I have a function that is a little more advanced than just using that.

3) hundreds of processes = no problem at all. I've been continuously going over my script and caching as many queries as possible.

Also absolutely no form of encoding or callbacks are in place. Don't let the $30 pricetag fool you. This is lightyears better than what comes to mind when you think of a $30 script. The price is simply too low for this script I know. I want to get a good sized install base for my script so word of mouth sales can push things once I slow down on the coding.

tried to send you a message on AIM but it says you're offline now.

teksonline 12-26-2007 09:49 PM

I don't have AIM at least not anymore, i use eye-seek-u
