here is a simple question. why do most countries hate americans

is it jealousy ?
is it their attitude ?
is it their wealth ?
is it that they stick up for some who can't stick up for them selfs such as the people in Serbia or Croatia when Europe did not want to do anything about it ?
is it cause they tell some people the way it is ?
is it bushism ?

what do you think is the reason many countries hate Americans and have that hateful look when you go into their country with an American passport ?

Alot of it is our government has gone overseas and fucked with other governments,made promises they didnt keep. The people get pissed.

It is a combination of all of the aforementioned plus more.

ATTITUDE - Yes. First off the fact we call ourselves "Americans" and by doing so indicate that all Americans are from the United States bothers the shit out of our neighbors to the north, south.

Nepal? Liberia? Why aren't we involved in the invasion of those arbitrary governments? Probably because we won't have shit to gain. yet we involve ourselves in the 'liberation' of the iraqi people (and their 10% of the worlds oil) and the occupation of the Afghan people (and their 90% production of the worlds hashish/poppy seeds).

Allright once I am desperately seeking for a ways how to amuse myself let me put down what I observed:

1) LACK OF INFORMATION

- there are only superficial information about United States in Europe as only superficial information about Europe in US, people are not educated enough and don't understand that US is a different culture and US do also have a very low awareness about Europe

2) GENERAL LOW EDUCATION LEVEL / SELF CONFIDENT ATTITUDE

- the general attitude in US is to stand for yourself, fight / work / compete and that's completely allright and that's why this country still somehow works - but, unfortunately - on some topics like especially history / geography etc. in many cases the US guys are going to inevitably own themselves which doesn't help to give the nation a credit

3) VERY STRONG PATRIOTISM / PROPAGANDA:

Yes, the only way how to justify many things that are in fact screwing people in US is that it's everything allright and it's the best for the citizens of the most free country in the world (as the invention of the term "socialised medicine" in healthcare for exaple), which is something a person from the outside world just sees from 1000 miles away because of not beeing raised in this system

4) THE MOST DEGENERATED MASSMEDIA CULTURE IN THE WORLD

With the most serious know how in how to herd sheeps and manipulate people, and making money out of ignorance and conformity - US is the leader in the most superficial and idiotic ways how to amuse masses (Jerry Springer, Truck Championships, drama news, Friends etc. etc.) that is sucesfully beeing spread all around the world, but Europe doesn't really accept this that easily because there always was and always will be a choice.

Just a couple of positive points that come to my mind, I would want to state that:

- I regard a couple of US guys as some of the smartest people I know
- I love US dining and services (best in the world and I have traveled like 20 countries)
- I love US cars (FUCK the economy wrecks we drive here!)
- I regard US as the country no.1 what concerns the know how in sales and marketing
- I regard US as some of the hardest working people in the world (and many guys from Europe who think they would make a living in US would get their ass kicked real bad real soon)

RESUME:

US is a different culture that has been developed separately from the rest of the world, take it or leave it, the less information you have, the less US people you know, the easier it will be for you to incline towards "hate" but from a standpoint of a person that's been dealing with the US guys on a daily basis for a long time - US is not for everyone but any inclining towards "hate" is just a bullshit and a clear sign of low profile education and experience.

Well, I would and wouldn't agree with you,
WHAT does a regular Joe know about the:

- Kjoto protocol
- the debts in south America,
- trusts / outsourcing / saving on healthcare etc.
- US invading Corea / Vietnam / Afghanistan / Iraq - all those were problematic incidents with a very strong opposition in Europe no matter if before 89 / after 89, these countries don't have a good experience with countries invading other countries after the World War II

IF he knew about this something - now that would be a true reason to be in an oposition for every say "liberal" or almost "left wing" thinking person but wouldn't neccessarily lead to "hate"

BUT all these facts are scandalised and touched on a very superficial level in the most popular tabloid media, furthermore

what a regular Joe is mainly exposed to is:

- regular killings, kids getting slaughtered with guns - something that just NEVER happened around here in the past 200 years (well besides Germany very recently)
- too many fat people to be seen on every uncensored public screening occasion, now everyone knows that people in US don't look like in "Baywatch" and every jerk is used to make fun out of it
- some US programs just are generally regarded as say "made for simplier people" and people watch that as ZOO

So in a way - yes, logically it would be mainly government that throws shade on the nation but MORE importantly, it's media and their feeding the masses with stuff with zero informational or any other value at all, which is unfortunately somehow accepted by the masses.

How many people from here were actually in the States? was that 0,5 pct.? How many of them ever read about the US history, how many of them know about Mayflower / about the Independence process / About the bill of rights / about the US legal system / about the modern history / about the way how it works in the states

So, I would say, even logically it should be exactly the opposite - It's more IGNORANCE than the government.

We are guilty just about the same as the US guys who are ignoring the outside world.

Well, honestly - I have to tell you I have traveled more than 20 countries in my life, and I never felt so chained by regulations and rules as in the states.

From the time I boarded the plane, there was always someone behind me telling what I can and what I can't:

"switch off the mp3 player"
"don't take any photographs"
"move on"

And I took that seriously because I know that it's not good to hassle with the regulations in the States and I am not a kind of type that would care plus I was on a visit so I will not be trying to pull a high on anyone.

I actually like order very much, am more of a German nature - but it's anyway something I am not used to and I am not used to be bothered by anyone.

One thing I was really seriously aware off - never ever try to hassle with Police - I know this is the basic rule and I could end up real bad - I don't have issues with language, and even I do typos I was usually regarded as an Irishman or a UK guy while in US so they would not get mad at me because of this, but I knew that once this would happen - just shut the fuck up and talk to the point...

You know here - you will just have a friendly talk and if you did just something like speeding or bad parking - they don't give a shit and sometimes just let you go or give you the lowest fine if you are not behaving like a hero and they find you ok.

Noone ever cares about anything around here, noone will be bothering you unless you bother him - I don't mean that it's always good and especially the tourists misuse it a big time because they couldn't really shout / piss / woomit / get drunk publically in their place and especially the british tourists are the worst white trash they could ever import here..

What I found out is basically:

US is some of the best displays of the old school "Sugar and Lash" principles:

- you give the people the best customer support / they can refund everything many services for free or with bonuses etc. etc. so you will be happy the companies the government is SO CARING about your comfort

BUT

once you break the rules noone will give a damn and you will end up real bad and you will make sure everyone knows that this is not the way to go... Jail / fines / lawsuits - whatever..
