What %age of revenue you spend on ads?

Website owners
How much of your net revenue you spend on advertising alone?
20%, 30% or just 5%?

Vick! 12-24-2007 07:19 PM

0% -- if you mean constant/recurring spending.

I rather spend my brain to earn money, more money.

RegUser 12-24-2007 07:34 PM

recurring as well new ads are simply a must.

RegUser 01-01-2008 04:50 PM

anyone else?

RobertD 01-01-2008 05:31 PM

Zero percent.

If you carefully track where traffic and joins originate, what it cost to buy that traffic vs revenue received, it's easy to judge the value of ad money spent.

My papa always said to give 110%.

ppc is a fun hobby to have....& once you learn how to really utilize it, it becomes much less than a hobby ...and more like another revenue maker

Advertising shouldn't be view as overhead. It's money spent to make money. If done effectively it will bring in more sales/profits. It can also be wasted money if spent incorrectly or you would have had the business anyway.

It appears some view it as an expense they have managed to dodge. That's not really the correct approach to a valuable business tool.
