Help with photography class please...
I'm doing a project where I have to take a pic of each letter of the alphabet but it has to be something natural. I finished some of the letters but I just got a Olympus C-4040 and I dont know much about using manual features. Can you guys check out the pics I took and give me some advice to shoot better pictures? the pictures are HERE
thanks |
They all look pretty good actually, but you might want to go a stop or 2 lower when using your flash, or just stick with natural light and go f2.8/15 or lower with your camera on a tripod. Built-in flashes suck beyond belief unless you're shooting black and white with a 2 second exposure. But I digress, you're doing great!
I'm not familiar with that camera, can you adjust the ISO or is it locked? |
thanks for the tips. i can adjust the iso.

Beemk, another great place to get photography advice is here. Nothing but photographers (newbies & pro's) helping each other. :)

sweet thanks for the link deb, i appreciate it.

Your idea looks great. I was checking the alphabet C. It looks dirty. Someone has done shit on it. I agree with pornopete, try to get some good models.

Another thing to remember with digital cameras is make sure you have your white balance set properly, if your camera has an "Auto" setting that's usually good enough. Otherwise your whites can come out looking green or blue, depending on your light source. Heh, I'd do the model thing too and blow your instructor's mind... |
i would do the model thing, but it has to be natural. like i cant even take a pic of the mcdonalds M as an M because it has to be something natural that was already looking like an M but isnt supposed to be an M.

i'd be happy to supply a "V" or a "Y" for you!

Not much of a photographer, but I am betting at least one quarter of the class uses a wheel for an "O".
U = horseshoe or a tuning fork. |
The pics of the letters P and T look good, the rest need some work.

...well... nobody has talked about X alphabet. You can get plenty any where
