Just a thought, but if you can hire a coder online, like rentacoder, maybe there is a service for languages. At the least, I would contact some forums in the language and see if someone can tutor you for a low hourly rate over the phone.

I bet it would work.

Rosetta Stone is the best course outside of immersing yourself in a Spanish speaking country.

Rosetta Stone I have heard from talking to English speakers here in Spain.

They also do a 'Latin' Spaish course if you are going to a Latin country.

Advice from a Defense Language Institute grad (not me) was to immerse yourself in the language you're trying to grasp, So for Spanish, use Rosetta Stone, consider moving to SoCal, watch the local Spanish television station, all these measures will get your brain thinking in the language you want to learn.

Eventually you will have that AHA moment, and things should progress along quickly.

I moved to costa rica for 6 months.

A little unknown fact about me:

Though I know enough Spanish to get around and do what I need to do, I am NOT fluent. However, I often dream in Spanish and understand every word of it. Strange.
