Hmm google is strange shit

Have spent some hours looking at google and search terms. And man there are some wierd shit poping up for popular adult terms. Some people are really taking advantage of the o'So god google technology. Well it is by far failsafe in any way. Looks like it can be cheeted pretty easy.

Do a search for free porn and click on the #1 result. How much money do you think the dude running that site makes ??

Muff 09-27-2002 02:56 PM

Well the next update is going to be ALOT different.

Alot of the SEO's got slammed hard for the next update.

Googlebot is ever evolving!

Tipsy 09-27-2002 03:14 PM

Gotta agree with that. Seems to be BIG changes this time around although there's also now a lot of non-adult sites showing for adult search terms which isn't a good thing for anyone.

Shoplifter 09-27-2002 04:42 PM

This time they weeded out a lot of spammy linktogether sites. It's the best update in the last 3.

Looking at some of the changes only if you're PK or worldsex. There's a shit load of non-spam sites been dropped this time round.

Shoplifter 09-27-2002 04:58 PM

Well it worked out for me...I did #1 or first page on all my terms.

Ray@TastyDollars 09-27-2002 05:30 PM

How ofthen does Google update anyway?

Dances about once a month or so. Small updates happen all the time.

WiredGuy 09-27-2002 05:58 PM

Google updates quite frequently (weekly or daily) for those sites with PR > 6. I get some of my sites spidered weekly. But for everyone <= 5 PR, then your usually spidered between the 26-28th of the month.

Hrmmm looks like we did really well. Some of the results seem to be different still, maybe it's our cache or soemthing.. Our new page titles were added, but not our new URL's.. Maybe someone knows about this? We changed from...

http://adultsitesurfer.com/view_site.php?site_id=693

to

http://www.adultsitesurfer.com/Revie...all/index.html

But Google is still showing the side_id pages.. Sigh. Maybe next update? no? please? :)

FATPad 09-27-2002 06:27 PM

Update did well for me. Still got the search terms I wanted for #1 and some of my other sites moved up with the removal of the spammy crap.

*loves google*

EvilAL 09-27-2002 07:01 PM

I was enjoying top 10 listings for my site all month...then I tweaked a few things this morning...and now it seems I've vanished entirely. What the fuck is up with that?

Changing URL's is usually tough. Reason is that Google tends to look at sites already in its index. If Google see's a new URL, it assumes you have a new site and you start from scratch. Especially if you have no links to the new URL its like starting from scratch.

google is way too hysterical about spamming

This will be their end if they don't get back to caring about relevancy and surfer experience

The non-adult sites popping up for adult terms is one effect of that

See what happened to aol when they removed dmoz (most free sites too, so in the interest of the surfer, but when they dropped dmoz sites they got results from universities and 20 pages of sex offenders etc.. when someone searched for "sex"

Ridiculous and stupid on behalf of the SE operators. AOL stopped that again but obviously someone over there thought it would be a cool idea to "get rid of all those sites which have no other prupose than to sell porn"

The good thing about spamming is that when it is hard to spam those who come through will have spammed for the right things, i.e. for "black porn" when they got #1 for that term

What site is gonna be the most "relevant" for that? Trying to have the one #1 that is indeed the "most important, most recommended" blac porn site on the net? BS, won't work in porn.

Let the spammers spam each others and the best may win

I dont know how long you can stop spamming. It is the tags and meta tags which the google search.

Umm...no it really isn't. Go read up on it and come back when you have a clue.

Yeah, I'm noticing this now as our google page ranks are different for the urls.. We've basically had the view_site.php link since the birth of ASS, but now we've converted to a yahoo style url. And of course our google ranking has gone from 3-4, to 0.
