Fact: Giuliani is DONE!!!

It's all Huckabee right now in the final stretch to Iowa...Huckabee is more likeable, is a baptist preacher, wants to get rid of the IRS, and in my opinion, Huckabee is more 'American' sounding than Giuliani....It's kind of similar to Huckleberry Finn...

The nail in the coffin for Giuliani was that health scare today so now people are going to be questioning whether or not he will live through office..

It's a wrap for all of the other republican candidates...

edit...if he picks giuliani as a vice presidential candidate, it's a sure bet for the GOP in 2008

kane 12-20-2007 03:00 PM

I wouldn't hand it to him just yet. Eventually Huckabee has to leave the bible belt/conservative states and move more into the mainstream of American where is still polling lower than Mit and Rudy.

dready 12-20-2007 03:10 PM

Huckabee is a total nut job:

In 1998, Mike Huckabee was inspired -- possibly by events close to home to write a book called, Kids Who Kill. David Corn has a review over at Mother Jones, where you can see just how moderate the Arkansas preacher is when not yucking it up with the national press.

Expressing deep concern about the rash of school shootings in America, Huckabee set out to finger the culprits for our "culture of violence." His list is... interesting.

Quote:

Abortion, environmentalism, AIDS, pornography, drug abuse, and homosexual activism have fragmented and polarized our communities.
You might want to read that list again, just in case you thought you were hallucinating the first time. It's not that uncommon for the right to pass abortion off as sanctioning violence, but apparently environmentalism also causing our children to shot their schoolyard buddies. Oh, and it appears that AIDS is not a disease, but some horrible movement leading our children astray. No wonder those radical AIDSers need to be quarantined.

Not only does Huckabee feel free to create a laundry list in which environmentalism is equated to pornography, a few pages later he expands on his view of homosexuality.

Quote:

It is now difficult to keep track of the vast array of publicly endorsed and institutionally supported aberrations?from homosexuality and pedophilia to sadomasochism and necrophilia.
Exactly which government program is funding necrophilia, or why environmentalism is akin to drug abuse, Huckabee doesn't say.

But then, when all you're doing is spewing forth a noxious stew of the most extreme right wing hate, there's really no need to explain.

I'm from Iowa and everyone I know back home says "WTF, i don't know anyone who is for Huckabee"

Snake Doctor 12-20-2007 03:19 PM

Huckabee will never win a general election. The only reason he's still alive is because the religious conservatives have no other real choices in this field.

dav3 12-20-2007 03:24 PM

Do not let a preacher become president!!! The guy is a fucking whack job!

dready 12-20-2007 03:44 PM

Oh, he was also one of the three during the debates that put up his hand when asked: 'who doesn't believe in evolution?'.

Who were the other two?

Socks 12-20-2007 04:02 PM

Saying you don't believe in evolution is like saying you don't understand what you see! How can you look at fish or animal skeleton progressions through a slideshow and say you don't visually see the progression?

What do they see?

notoldschool 12-20-2007 04:08 PM

Huckabee has taken far too many gifts in the past for my taste. One year him and his wife took over 100,000.00 in gifts from special intrests. He has been warned by the ethics comittee 5 times for not declaring gifts he had recieved. he will go with whoever gives him the most gifts. Untrustworthy.

Tom Tancredo, and Sen. Sam Brownback.

No way Huckabee gets it, lol...

crockett 12-20-2007 04:17 PM

Ummm was it not Huckabee that was just outed for putting pressure on a local sheriff to let his son off on the dog killing ordeal?

Yep, and chastised 5 times by the ethics committee for all the gifts he's received... https://youtube.com/watch?v=0pRDxY42BpU

evildick 12-20-2007 04:28 PM

The guy is a religious whackjob.

Anyone that votes for him is off their rocker, or simply another person brainwashed by religion.

Pornwolf 12-20-2007 06:31 PM

What's scary is that a lot of Republicans would rather vote for him than Ron Paul.

WTF is wrong with those people?

They all like the free gifts from lobbyists. Except for Ron, that's why they don't like him.

minusonebit 12-20-2007 09:03 PM

Giuliani is a fucking terrorist. I hope his plane crashes. The death of the other passengers on board would be a worthwhile sacrifice to spare ourselves another potential dictator. Same with George Bush.

minusonebit 12-20-2007 09:04 PM

Though I kinda hope he wins... I have spent a good couple of hundred bucks on domains to slam him with if/when he does...

V_RocKs 12-20-2007 09:37 PM

Get rid of the IRS... Good luck.

MrPinks 12-21-2007 09:44 AM

Got to agree with dready, this guy is shady. Using religion as a way to win the presidency? There goes seperating church from state. On the news last night they said he is already quoting the bible. This country is in the toilet right now but this guy will flush it if he wins. Anyone else read the Yahoo article where they brought up his past quote of saying homosexuals are hazardous to our health and we should quarantine aids patients? That's fucked up.

This country needs to vote on who will make this country better, no who is a christian. I would rather have Romney instead (if we get stuck with another repub)

I think this shit is rigged!

Ummm Romney is just as big a religous pander fag as huckabee. they are both totally wrong for this country. I laugh at all you people who make a living off porn and then back crazy religious zealots like they are your buddy. wake up please.

MrPinks 12-21-2007 10:05 AM

Why don't you wake the fuck up. I didn't say I was backing Romney. I said I would rather have Romney than Huckabee (if we get stuck with another repub)! Re-read my post. And the reason behind that is because Romney said from the beginning he is going to keep religion out of his campaign, which is the exact opposite of what Huckabee is doing.

I dont support Romney either but to be fair to him you need only to look at his record as a REPUBLICAN Governor in Massachusetts....arguably one of the most Democrat dominated states in the country...He has a history of reaching across the aisle to the other side and working together with the Dems....I really dont like any of the candidates, I just hope we get a centrist that can unite both parties enough to move us forward....I wouldnt beat Romney up on his faith though...as far as I know-he hasnt made it a factor in any political office he has held....:2 cents:

MrPinks 12-21-2007 10:20 AM

I still dont understand the whole system - dont really want to either - not having a vote means I just have to deal with whoever you put in at the end of the day.

This Hukabee sounds a bit of a nutter though.....

Of course he is going to keep it out of his campaign. The less people that know he is a Mormon the better as far as he is concerned.

It is one thing to be a Christian and believe in Jesus and quite another to believe the crap espoused by the Mormons.

Nobody is "done" hell they might have a brokered convention. If guys don't start dropping out before super tuesday then I doubt anyone will get the 50% of delegates needed. Fact is Giuliani is going to win NY and most likely New Jersey. If he can win Florida that makes him viable.
