Nice, I just got back a couple weeks ago too. We were about an hour and a half south of Cancun, great area but a bit of a pain getting into town for the the clubs.

tell me about it, when i was landing and looking down at the snow i was thinking to myself wtf am i doing coming back here, seriously i love canada but it just isnt the place for me, but packing up and leaving friends and family just isnt so easy for me.

i have thought about it for years now and i find as time goes by i am getting closer to leaving, change of scenery thats all.

i stayed at the Grand Oasis, i have stayed there 3 years in a row like it lots so i dont bother switching.

cancun is an amazing city but to live im not to sure for me, the mexicans get annoying after a couple days they try to grind you for every cent.

Yeah I know they do,. Im already in Mexico, but over on the left coast.
just south of San Diego. But its toooo fucking cold here, and I want my son to enjoy the warm water and the heat.

I hear ya, Calgary sucks balls in the winter. Seems like it's cheaper to go on an all inclusive vacation than to live in this city for a week too.

Never been to Amsterdam Rhino, I've heard good things about it though. Where abouts is it?

I don't do the Calgary clubs much anymore, pretty much lived at outlaws and metro for a couple years and kind of got bored of it. I live down south so hit snatch or back alley every now and then, sometimes get dragged to tequila. Other than that it's mostly pubs for me now.

Amsterdam Rhino plays good music and the people there are also really layed back, i have seriously never seen a fight there and i have been there like 10 times, its the kind of club where people will bump into to and actually take their time to apologize, u get a few cocky mofos but i just let it slide.

LOL i used to fucking love Metro, they used to give out all those $100 bar tabs for thurs i can see why it went out of business.we used to go there pay cover drink our worth and leave.

i am the same way, i swear there is just nothing goin on in this city EVER. Not much into rock but been to those bars a couple times dont mind them. after travelling and being 2 some of the bigger clubs like in NY or cancun or anywhere for that matter makes calgary clubs seem a waste of time.

Back alley and Snatch don't play a whole lot of rock most nights, they call them rock bars but really they play the same music as everywhere else. Metro was awesome... practically free liquor and ladies night there was like shooting fish in a barrel. I think a Coco Bongo style club would do really well in Calgary.

I think the problem is that a small handful of people own the majority of the bars here and they put no creativity into it. If pennylane invested a little into making good unique bars instead of rotating through clones of Cowboys that fail every few years Calgary would have a much better scene.

WB MetaMan.... i'm in "Winterpeg" - used to live in "Cow Town" for 25 years before moving out here... I feel your pain, but have no sympathy.. at least you get mini breaks called "Chinooks" once its cold here... it stays cold until March/April...

I live in Thailand, can see the ocean from my bedroom window in the day time and have a set of 19 year old Thai whore twins sleeping in my bed. I can't complain.

OK, so maybe they are ladyboys, but they are still twins.

Winnipegs summers are amazing, but i def. could not deal with the winters anymore, i can barely deal with them in the firstplace.

It seems like everyones enegery tanks in the winter.
