Ever take dance lessons?

I don't mean tap dance or something like that, but rather something you could actually use later.

Domain Diva 12-19-2007 02:48 PM

Im a party dancer does that count ? doesnt make me any $$$$ though just gets me to nice clubs :)

MichelleB 12-19-2007 02:49 PM

Tap, Ballet, and jazz from when I was 3 till I was 17 and then I taught it to 3-4 yr olds for 2 years. You can always use these, there are a lot of forms of ballet you need to do hip hop and stuff like that you'd be surprised how many ballet moves are used

baddog 12-19-2007 02:51 PM

Again, did you take lessons that could be applied elsewhere . . . . say, a wedding?

Ballet probably wouldn't apply and I am not sure what jazz dancing is.

Is that like a taxi dancer or dime dancer? I used to have a g/f that did that, did not know it was still happening though.

JayDeeZee 12-19-2007 02:52 PM

Took a few salsa lessons in Cuba.

Well, pretty sure they won't be teaching ballet in a once a week, five week class, so again, not really in the same category.

It is like comparing taking Spanish and taking conversationalist Spanish.

One will teach you all the proper rules, and one will teach you to be able to talk to people.

Im only 20 Baddog so I have no idea what this means ? :)

Is that like a taxi dancer or dime dancer?

People just invite me to parties and clubs because they know myself and my friends will dance the nite away and give off a vibe ,not stage or feature dancing ,just fun dancing :thumbsup

Dirty Lord 12-19-2007 03:48 PM

Don´t like dancing, except for e-music!!!

JenniDahling 12-19-2007 03:49 PM

I try to do ballet while dancing to "2 Legit 2 Quit"

There used to be clubs where guys could go dancing, and they would provide girls to dance with them for a small fee.

I believe it. I have seen you at two parties recently and both times you had two women with you at all times.

And here I thought your specialty was chicken wings. :winkwink:

The reason I asked is I am going to start taking lessons with my daughter next month so we can look good during the father-daughter dance at her wedding. I was just wondering how effective they were.

I doubt we will be doing any salsa dancing though.

its never too late man..don't think, do it.:thumbsup

I can dance salsa, ballroom, swing, cumbian, quebadita, hiphop, and trance

G-Rotica 12-19-2007 04:01 PM

I used to teach country dancing, when Urban Cowboy was all the rage. Knowing how to 2 step and do the Cotton Eye Joe is a plus to growing up in Texas. and the waltz...omg like my pa said, boy if you can waltz, you can can get laid.

KILL_FRENZY 12-19-2007 04:30 PM

I suck at dancing ....big time

They come for the chicken wings, and stay for the dancing. It's my racket.

I think taking the time to learn the dance will definitely be worth it - I'm sure it'll be great. :)

I did street dance at my gym for a year. I use it in clubs regularly and all the girls love it.

The class was full of hot 16 - 35 year old girls. There were only afew guys in there and we were all there for the same reasons.

I'm hoping to get back into it next year and maybe try salsa.

Dancing is one the most enjoyable forms of exercises i've done.

needlive 12-19-2007 06:18 PM

I was born to be an entertainer.

msan 12-19-2007 10:43 PM

At my college it was mandatory to have ballroom dancing. I think waltz would be good for father-daughter dance. Easy to learn and not so much energetic movements :)

td690 12-19-2007 10:44 PM

nope, never

I think it would be easier for her to waltz than to attempt the twist or Lindy hop in her wedding dress. :1orglaugh

Iron Fist 12-19-2007 10:54 PM

Took dancing in school.... I cannot for the life remember how to do the "box step" anymore....

kovacs 12-20-2007 12:09 AM

I went to salsa classes for a while, it's a fantastic way to meet hot available women... I heard it described somewhere as "soft dating" and it's so true. Salsa isn't that applicable outside the specific latin dancing scene however.

If you want to learn to dance in nightclubs then just spend a few nights watching the dance floor and working out what the obviously good dancers are doing, then go home and copy that. Men aren't expected to do much in the way of flashy moves in a club, in fact you look like a dick if you do. You just need to express confidence and physical co-ordination, but the club dance floor is really the girls' place to shine. As long as you can make them look good... you'll get laid. :)

I was a dancing fool from 1965 - 1986, however, as stated above this is for a special dance, not clubbing.

Violetta 12-20-2007 12:21 AM

No, but I know I have to soon. Swing

A good friend of mine is part of the Lindy revolution. He loves it. I have to admit, when I see two good dancers working together I wish I could do the same.

Unfortunately, a motorcycle accident made it so that after a night of swing dancing I probably would not be able to walk for three days.

quantum-x 12-20-2007 02:26 AM

[Argentine] Tango, Gaffiera, [Linear] Salsa...

titmowse 12-20-2007 02:36 AM

Yes. Took ballet and Jazz. However, I am lousy at partner dancing because I instinctively lead. Guys hate that. :)

There's just as much enjoyment in following than there is leading :)

slapass 12-20-2007 06:17 AM

Yes I did. I did it to learn to Samba for Carnival in Brazil. It is an awesome way to meet women. You have to be into MILF's though.

Magalie 12-20-2007 06:55 AM

I took salsa lessons....I was going solo, so I didn't really like it. I mean, I had to 'be' the guy once in a while and had to learn his steps and learn to lead ...so anyway, was ok for a bit.
My brother was going out with a salsa teacher at that time so we had some good times during parties and stuff.

Before that, a friend taught me Meringue. I studied in theatre/production and he was acting, so backstage, between his scenes, we danced lol That was fun ! :)
