Panasonic HVX200
 

I've read some old threads about this cam seemed mostly positive but was wondering what is the most recent views of those who have been using this camera. I'm thinking about picking one up. Thanks

I couldn't be happier. We have 2 of them and we shoot in every combination possible. On tape, FireStore, P2 cards and all of it is just a breeze. very happy.

Had one for a while, P2 cards are a bit pointless though, only 8 or 16mins of HD at the moment although I think they come free with the camera now. Get the harddrive if you wanted to shoot more than 16mins at a time

32Gig cards now. Works great :thumbsup

I'm looking at the Canon XH-1A. A little cheaper and similar performance. Work flow is much smoother too. Less of a headache.

Thats great to hear. How is the sound quality with the built in mic? Besides ther firestore and P2cards. Anything else you recommend I pickup?

The built in mic is good, I use a shot-gun sometimes as well.

Anyone got a sample of video shot in 24p vs same shot in standard mode?

never have seen a good side by side comparison.

24p alone doesnt make it look like film it has to be light and shot like film to really see it. Its darker and not as contrasty.
