the idiots at CompUSA

Where does CompUSA find these people? I went to the local CompUSA in San Bruno yesterday afternoon, found an employee and asked if they had any Blackberry 8310's in stock. He turned to me and said "well, do we have those?" And I'm like "well, I'm asking you."

What a useless piece of crap. I felt like kicking him in the nuts. Seriously - if they don't know what the hell they're selling, why are they even there?

A few weeks ago the owner of the CompUSA chain stated that he was closing down all the stores and liquidating inventory. It's probably hard to keep your employees motivated when they know they are getting canned soon.

sounds lik some bull shit to me, but hey

munki 12-18-2007 04:10 PM

Was he maybe reiterating your question to himself?

I do that sometimes...

What they are selling is called close-out, is it any wonder?

I have no idea what they carry or don't carry. They've got a slew of demos on their displays, and I know they carry things that aren't even on display.

So I'd like to think I can have a little faith that the employees I ask questions to, might know a little somethin' about what they carry.

If there was ever a retail company that deserved chapter seven it's CompUSA.

I can't imagine the level of service in their last dying days.

aico 12-18-2007 04:29 PM

well, what do you expect it's CompUSA, not really targeted for people who know much about computers.

CompUSA is going out of business and has already sold everything to a liquidator who is in the process of running clearance sales to sell all the merchandise. Many of the normal employees are gone and temp ones are just there to close down the stores. I wouldn't purchase anything there unless you get a killer deal as you may have return/rebate issues after they shut down.

Problem was they were retarded before they went tits up. Which is sort of the reason they died. Higher prices and moron employees (when you could find one).

RyuLion 12-18-2007 05:53 PM

I don't miss this Co. at all..All I ever bought from them was a AC adapter..

The store closings were kinda neat in Cali almost a year-or-so ago...

They weren't kidding when they said everything must go (though I figured they moved all the popular stuff out already).

They were even selling a few of the lighting fixtures from the store.

I was bummed when they closed the one over here. Nice to have a place like that within walking distance.

CompUSA, the sellers of repackaged Thermal Take gear for double the price. Good bye!

sortie 12-18-2007 07:19 PM

They provided you with cheap prices by not paying shit to employees and not traing them and now you finally realize why that concept sucks.

Congrats to the winners, even though it took wal-mart, best buy and a host of others before you saw the finish line.

Same story in Jersey... They closed a while ago.

The prices at CompUSA were usually way expensive on everything. :2 cents:

Bwahahaha, yeah for sure.

V_RocKs 12-18-2007 08:37 PM

It is called minimum wage.

AdultB2B 12-19-2007 12:15 AM

That was always a shitty chain with bad employees. They've already closed all of the stores around me. But they're ok on line. You don't have to ask any idiots a question that way.
