And the feller on the left sister takes the place of Katie Holmes.

The Joker looks pretty terrible. The Batman Begins movies seem to be more of a "real world" take on Batman as opposed to a comic book one. Not sure if that's completely a good thing.

The box office receipts seem to think it's a good thing.

I have to throw up.

Not because of the gayness of this thread, but because I smoke crack.

shekinah 12-18-2007 10:09 AM

Heath Ledger, the joker?? sounds interesting:thumbsup

Violetta 12-18-2007 10:10 AM

Christian Bale ... Bruce Wayne / Batman
Michael Caine ... Alfred Pennyworth
Heath Ledger ... The Joker
Maggie Gyllenhaal ... Rachel Dawes
Gary Oldman ... Lt. James Gordon
Morgan Freeman ... Lucius Fox
Eric Roberts ... Salvatore Maroni
Aaron Eckhart ... Harvey Dent

But where is Katie Holmes? Wasnt she the babe in the first movie?

Persius 12-18-2007 11:53 AM

Fans of the Dark Knight seem to think it is a good thing.

We'll just see how THIS movie makes out. I bet it'll have a good opening weekend, but won't nearly reach the heights of "Batman Begins".

Brother Bilo 01-04-2008 10:16 AM

Christian Bale almost always puts on a good performance. The guy is built to play a fucking weirdo, so anything that's along those lines works well for him. And I would say a person who puts on a costume to fight crime borders on wierd.

Batman Begins made $205 mil. It won't take much to top that.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is now playing her character.

Some Guy 01-06-2008 10:51 PM

Katie Holmes isn't going to be in it at all.

I've been anxiously awaiting this movie ever since seeing Batman Begins, which is by far the best comic book movie ever made. It was awesome.

I was originally pretty pissed to find out Ledger would be playing the Joker, but from the trailer... he seems to do a damn good job.

I still think they should have cast Steve Buscemi, as originally rumored. He would have been perfect.

Yeah they said they wouldn't be dealing with Katie and Tom again right after the release of Batman Begins. Apparently they caused all kinds of headaches on the set.

Steve Awesome 01-07-2008 08:48 PM

Anthony Michael Hall has a part in this feature as well. It's going to do very well, IMHO. Batman Begins on DVD has been a huge hit so it ensures a large audience will show up on opening day. Did you know they filmed four long sequences of upcoming THE DARK KNIGHT using IMAX cameras? The film will be released in IMAX theaters simultaneous with the normal release, and those sequences will blow you away with detail. I feel like they should have shot the whole thing in IMAX, but meh, I'll take 4 sequences. If you see I AM LEGEND in the theaters you will be treated to the first 7 minute sequence of THE DARK KNIGHT. I saw it a few days ago and it blew me into the back of the theater. Gonna be good!

How can they have a Superman Vs. Batman film when Superman seems so firmly established in a fictional comic-booky kind of world, and Batman's world looks almost real?

Strange talking about how much I dislike the new Joker now ...you know, with Heath not even cold in his grave.

Malicious Biz 01-24-2008 04:31 AM

Why is it that the new Joker looks like he just starred in a Max Hardcore Video?

I loved that. I really thought it was MUCH better than the old movies.

personally i think its definately a good thing. Look at the older batman movies with arnold s., jim carey. They were so fucking childish, i hate those flicks.

oh and about superman - i never even bothered to see that new version, and i'll never watch it either. Superman is a lame and boring character, ive always felt that way... plus when they started showing snippets on tv, and there was always that bullet against the eye scene, i figured there isnt much in the movie when they keep showing that one childish fucking scene.

pinsv 01-24-2008 06:50 AM

try imdb.com

Sarah_Jayne 01-24-2008 06:57 AM

Still doubt it will make money? Now it won't even have to be good to rake it in.

alby_persignup 01-24-2008 07:00 AM

Yeah as far as I've heard Heath Ledger is the new Joker.

He's one of my favorite actors. You ever see him in The Machinist? Rent it, if you haven't. I don't know what's more amazing- his performance or what he did to his body for the role.

The George Reeves Superman was weird when it came to bullets. The crook would shoot at him and Superman would stand there and let the bullets bounce off his chest. But when the crook and out of bullets and THREW the gun at him, Superman would dodge out of the way!

That would be because it is based more on Frank Millers Dark Knight graphic novels and not one of the many other batman comics. There are numerous batman comic titles by the way.

When someone mentioned the whole superman vs batman problem, again that was done in the Dark knight graphic novel format and not in the happy go lucky world of the superman comic book or justice league America. So once again it could be a perfect fit.

Ideally it is key that he does not kill off to many of the assorted villains as that is key to helping him drive himself partially insane, specially when they break out of the asylum. Or as another example when his sidekick Robin gets his ass broken and killed. I feel it is essential that they allow us the viewers to peer into his mind and watch it slowly crumble into madness like it always did in those graphic novels and even some of the comic books themselves. (some were more toony, some more like superman, others more serious and sinister which got amped even more with dark knight)
