I am about to get laid off from my job
 

If I am willing to work 40 plus hours a week, can I make 60k doing this? I have piddled around with it and am only making about 200 a month on here, but always was curious about doing more.

What do you need to get to the next level?

I can afford a few grand in start up costs for software, and wait a month or two for the money to come in.....any opinions?

You can definitely make that kind of money in this business, but if you think that you will make it in a month or two you are way off base. Keep in mind we work on the web. With that we rely on traffic (google, yahoo, links etc). It could take quit a bit longer than that to actually define keywords that work for you. It also depends on what you are trying to do in the business. You will struggle at first when you start if you have no money, but you can make money in the business, its just not as easy as it once was.

Good call. Best scenario is when you quit the 9 to 5 because you are making so much cash from the 'side business' that its time to dedicate yourself full time.
