Gotta love it when Christians do their job
 

My wife and I some of you know moved out into a country home - lovely place about 2 acres - 3000 sqft house with all the trimmings, but a driveway that can fit about 12 cars end to end.

Now add 35 to 40 cm (thats close to 1 1/2 - 2 feet for you Americans) of snow and a endless line of city snow removal trucks driving by dumping their load at the end of our driveway. We just moved in here and only have 2 shovels so we're pretty much locked in.

The neighbors beside us have a construction company and after driving by our home this morning had ordered one of his trucks to stay back and clear our driveway out. I stood there at the window amazed at the generosity and thoughtfulness of country neighbors. Now the wife and I are going to bake some gingerbread cookies and take them over as thanks.

You simply have to love the Christmas spirit that comes out in some people.

I agree 'thelegacy' it is definitely nice when people do thinks without being asked like that. Do you know they are Christians for sure tho? Maybe they are just nice folk.

Has more to do with the country mentality than you realise.

When one of our horses passed away a neighbor came over in the rain with his digger and made the hole big enough for us to put her in. My brother and I had been working on it for 5 hours, and only had it about 5 feet deep and 10 feet long. He expanded it, and went down 12 feet. we started in the early afternoon, and when he got home from work it was 42 degrees and raining. but he came over anyway.

It's much easier to bake cookies than have a heart attack shoveling snow.

Like another poster stated, it's more country life than christan.

Gotta agree with both you guys. Country people are much more hospitable than city folk in my experience.

I miss that feeling. I know what it's like, people tend to actually care when you get into sparsely populated areas.

You know, I used to feel that way when I first started visiting places in the south, but after buying the house in Indiana, and spending a significant amount of time there, I am wondering if that default trust I was giving to "country folk" is really deserved.
