Explain this magic trick to me

wasn't teh boy alley formerly teh boy magician? I think I've seen him explain tricks before.

The only thing I noticed, is when she picked out the two bills, he took his time to make sure the ones he was putting back in his pocket were folded evenly.. Check that part out, it might have something to do with it.

The fact that he doesn't want to use the 20 says that the dollars cut in two stay in two... so somewhere there is a switch.

Perhaps the dollars are like so:

meaning the two he shows you are wrapped around the one you are cutting. So when you cut it, he is holding flat the cut pieces against the two that were folded over each half of it.

I think he's palming something. He's slow to open them up after the cut. Watch his hands. Also when he goes to his pocket it also looks like he is palming something.

something to do with the 3 remaining dollars, he did something to them and you can't see if he actually puts them back in his pocket or not.

I have also seem a similar trick there the dollar is folded, then the folded edges are glued together so it looks like one dollar, this would explain why he placed them face to face.
