    Rare political rant...

Now political rants are far from my thing, but with Christmas in full swing and people dumping money on presents at a huge rate, it is time for me to proclaim a simple idea. Boycott all Chinese made products!

This is a country that oppresses its people, sends us tainted goods, kills families dogs (if you want to get really ticked off read this http://www.byteland.org/boycottchina/index.html ) and just doesn't care.

The light in my head went off the other day after listening to Henry Rollins rant about China and how buying Chinese products is un-American. So I did some digging of my own and was reminded of just how bad they are, even as they play goody-goody to us to get our dollars.

But don't take my word for it. Google it for yourself and decide if you really want to send our money to a country that treats it citizens (and us via tainted exports) like it does.

Good rant and I agree with you.

The only problem is that it is so hard to find non made in China stuff.

It's a noble goal... just hard to achieve.

The vast majority of American's simply don't give a shit - on many levels.

Walmart's success is a testament to the consumer priorities of the American people. Those priorities set the pace for the market - and influence the variety of goods that we have to choose from.

            I support the idea, though.

Why don't you boycott Saudi Arabia, Israel, Venezuela...etc?

How many Iraqi civilians died since the CIA aided by the Pentagon took over Iraq? Why don't you boycott the US government?

I think China, Russia and Arab countries will end up boycotting the US, and America will get fucked.

Americans are big pussies even more coward than Arabs.

I know... I went shopping yesterday and had to put half the cool things I found back 'cause they were made in China.

I agree, most people don't care, but if the few of us that are awake enough to see what is going on and do something about it we might just make a difference. Besides, a person has to stand for something.

I am guessing you aren't from the USA. Yeah America sucks, I hear it all the time. But it seems that it doesn't suck so much that people don't want to move here to live, borrow our money, and ask for our aid.

Is it perfect here? No, but we can still speak our mind without being dragged off in front of a religious court and stoned to death. When was the last time you heard of an American court sentencing a woman to 200 lashes for being in a car with a man that wasn't her relative? I think we left that sort of idiocy behind us a couple hundred years ago.

Well, that's why I don't shop at Walmart. I know 2 families personally who have had people lose their job because Walmart forced them to outsource their labor in order to get the cost low enough for them to carry their product.

Yeah, so why support them. What is with all the rednecks that scream that they are proud to be Americans, but then buy all that Walmart imported Chinese crap. I know they are stupid and all... But 'cmon....
