Nastydollars - 30% of your new iframe links are 404
http://www.realitykings.com/ip/assistant_ass_tr.htm
http://www.realitykings.com/pu/pure_penetration_tr.htm http://www.realitykings.com/es/blonde_for_two_tr.htm http://www.realitykings.com/we/lingerie_lovin_tr.htm theres a few to start with p.s. can i have your 404 traffic hit my refcode for 5 minutes for pointing out the errors for you :winkwink: |
i suppose thats not so bad , if i throw up banners for your new promo i will lose 30% of my sales but i will get a 30% bonus.. thus breaking even kinda :) , as long as i dont run the banners for longer than the promo or im getting stiffed :)
|
cmon people i know this isnt nearly as interesting as a contest thread that got me to throw up banners that lost me sales all day but show me some bump love.
|
Yikes, thats not good.
WG |
i think the problem is not all models have video trailers and the new iframe tool they built assumes that all the model pages have corresponding video trailers and they dont.
|
i realise its not a pressing issue for you guys but it means i will likely miss the promo because i won't know when it's fixed, but that brings me to another point..
i realise this is a stretch but.... how about just passing along ref codes to your 404 :) that would solve alot of hassles with this sort of thing |
as usual nothing gets fixed.
if the 404 had my ref code i bet it would be fixed in like 5 seconds |
Forwarded the message. Thanks, Smokey.
|
workin on it

There have been many programs that have said it is impossible to do this, but I never believed it. |
On a side note is the 404 carrying over the affiliate ids the same as if someone clicks the members link on sites. Not sure if this is still 404 or 403 or something. Anyways maybe that was the transfer of affiliate code that people were saying was very hard to do.

just for curiosity... are you going to credit all the other webmasters that didn't realized that problem, and got their traffic redirected to the 404 pages?
|
hmmm i suppose no

If you were using this tool and got some sales just contact nd support and let them know and im positive they will credit your account for any suspected lost sales. obviously most people weren't using this tool yet because it was brand new so it wouldnt really be a case for crediting "everyone" like when processing goes down or something, but i'm sure if you felt your missing sales they would make up for it. |
lol, that's funny. I'd just finished putting up a bunch of these when I saw this thead. :thumbsup

and for sure the rest of people, that didn't got that problem, they have nothing to do with that :P |

ya Rick, i think they fixed the bad iframes, they just not answering my two questions...
if they are going to credit all the people that used the iframes with errors and didn't noticed about it? and how are you going to track the affiliate ids in the 404? and if that possible? i feel ignored :Oh crap |

The iframes were only up for a day or 2 i believe before they fixed it , and the problem wasnt with every iframe . I can't imagine anyone lost more than a sale or 2. It would be pretty hard to reverse track down who sent traffic to those particular iframes using that particular NON default setting ( problem only occured on the individual video page if selected ) nastydollars is one of the only sponsors i have seen that credits webmaster for sales during downtime several times per year, mind you not all sponsors have serious downtime , but not all sponsors are as big as nd. |
well, they can say that... its not that hard

this is just an example but here goes.. first you drop this as your .htaccess Code:
ErrorDocument 404 /404/four04.php this is the code for the php file that will detect the refid of the 404 , and record the broken url inot a database that can be checked to fix the error Code:
<?php |
ideally you would sen the customer to the main page with your ref code on it.
but for the example i just made it display an error message indicating the 404 has been recorded |

Hey Smokey thanks for the 404 code, thats pretty cool :)
about why i keep bumping... i asked something in a really nice way and they totally ignored and omitted the answer... so i just trying to see if at least someone from nd wants to say something like you said... but well, seems that they wont :( so i suppose you (as an affiliate) are lot more helpfully than they are. Thanks man :thumbsup |
