first night of league and I'm ready to kick some ass and take names....

Gotta love bowling, not too many other sports where you can drink beer and eat hotdogs while participating in (I tried it during a baseball game once and mustard all over me when someone hit a sharp grounder while I was patrolling third base......)

anyone up for a webmaster bowling tournament during next InterNext? For those of us who suck total ass at golf........

although a webmaster Mini-Golf tourney might be fun...nothing like getting drunk and "accidently" tippping over the windmill....

hell yeah. i used to bowl almost every day (yes i know fucked up) but i got really good. i even watched all the sunday evening pro bowling on TV (pba)... high score was 267. i had a 180 / 190 average. (that was when i was 14 / 15)... haven't gone in awhile.

I started in a new league a few weeks ago. Not kicking ass yet, but average around 160 right now.

Me and a group usually 10-15 people go every friday. Its so much fun ! Drink beer eat munchies and bowl all night ! And it's cosmic bowling...lights, gay music (some nights) and the whole nine yards.
Its always a blast !

I've been out of league compettion for a couple years with a bum shoulder (used to throw a huge crank hook when I was younger, but the shoulder and wrist can't handle the strain anymore)...was averaging mid 190's when I took my haitus, will be interesting to see how it goes tonight...hopefully I'll suck for a few weeks and build up some handicap ;)

my most embarassing moment was my 293....11 strikes, then bounced the 12th off my ankle and luckily the ball hung on the lane for 3....lol

fuck - 190 avg? That's pretty sweet! Could have used you on my team. I bowled for 3 seasons when I worked with a pack of goomba's - drank lots of beer and ate bad food - I didn't even know what Seinfeld was until I changed jobs LOL. I still drag my Hammer's with me whenever I move, although last two places haven't had any lanes within decent driving distance.

my highest ever league average was 198 but oddly enough, I've only ever had one 700 series in my life.........I shot a lot of 670's and 680's, but only got that 700 once, a 715 and funny enough, that night there were eight 700 series bowled so I didn't even make the money that week...

oh and (more bragging) I shot my first 600 at 12 and by 14 had a 170 average...hehehe

but I was an arrogant punk kid and bowled against some dudes for money and lost my amateur statuss (fuckwads turned me in) so I lost all my scholarships and couldn't bowl in YABA anymore, had to bowl in adult leagues at 17...

I'm loyal to Rhino bowling balls but broke down and bought one of those skull balls...kewl as shit, a cheapie spare shooter, but kind of fun to see it sitting up there on the rack.....

Thats it sykk blow our image, DarkDollars, we're your dad's affilitae program... now WE'll have to come up with some more fucked up shit to maintain our kewl :)

One of my first jobs was working in a Bowling Alley.
Way back in the day. I never really did get into bowling myself. I could oil a mean lane though. No, I am not voluntering for pin-chasing duty.

I've always wanted to bring along a couple of cam girls or pornstars to help distract the other team.....hmmmm

When I was a kid, I was a bit akward and wasn't an athlete by any stretch of the imagination. Then I discovered bowling and found something I had potential at. I started bowling on leagues when I was 8. Every Saturday morning there I was with 50-60 other kids, all sporting massive bed head....By 11 or 12 I was carrying my own against some of my "coaches".

I lived in a small town and did a little weekend duty at the bowling alley when I got older and in exchange I got unlimited free bowling, so I was throwing 20-30 games a week. It was a 12 lane house, so I basically "knew" each lane like the back of my hand.

The day that almost killed me was the day I had stand in front of a board of YABA officials and learn I was to be stripped on my scholarships. I came from a small town (that got smaller when US Steel shut down the iron ore mine) and the only "way out" was academic scholarship, military or athletic scholarship. Seeing my potential college dreams go out the window was extremely tough.

I remember when I went through a "coaches Camp" to become certified as a bowling instructor (not that it was worth a fuck, but it was fun to flash to card to my friends) and I became a coach to the local Special Olympic bowling team. (No, I wasn't ON the team, although, my dad tried to convince me to act mental to qualify to get on the tem...my dad was quite the character, sandbagging Special O bowling ;)) My best bowler was a blind man...

ah, lane memories...I remember the day I learned that Earl Anthony had died...I felt how a basketball fan would if Micheal Jordan died...

hmmm, I wonder if it would be possible to rent some lanes late at night, block it off and do some nude bowling...I'm sure it's only a matter of $$$$$$$$ ;)
