Kirkland Vodka from Costco
 

Rumor has it that Kirkland Vodka (Costco's brand) is really re-branded Grey Goose. I picked up a bottle for a party tonight, and I'll report later tonight whether this is indeed true.

Anyone have an opinion on this stuff?

Betcha if you tell nobody and you let nobody see the bottle nobody will tell the difference regardless.

maybe its a regional thing.. new york I only seen beer in costco

Since Grey Goose is pure crap, I would suggest that Grey Goose is actually rebranded Kirkland Vodka.

Run it through a Brita filter a couple of times.

I have heard that as well here in San Diego.

All I know is kirkland products kick ass

They just re-label things from other companies. Same with Major grocery chains etc.

I once heard the Kirkland film was rebranded Fugi, but who knows.

its not exactly the same taste, but after a couple drinks you wont notice the difference.

Yep, Grey Goose finishes last or near last in almost every major blind vodka taste test, even amongst those who claim its their favorite Vodka. Grey Goose puts very little into the quality of their product, instead focuses on pouring tons into their marketing/branding.

kirkland is a good vodka and very, very similar to Goose... the purest vodka out there is Skyy... but i prefer my kettle one martini's!... I hate to mix kettle or goose with anything..

what sucks about the kirkland is the bottle is almost 3 feet tall.. what fucking bar has room for that?

When mixed, I doubt many people can tell different vodkas across brands. You can taste slight differences straight, but barely. For that reason, Vodka relies on marketing more than any other drink because taste is such a small part of it.

I would say pour that Kirkland vodka in some old Grey Goose bottles and I bet everyone will talk about how much they love Grey Goose as they down the discount Vodka.

What he said. They did this on Myth Busters and it confirmed that filtered cheap vodka is way better than unfiltered.

Oh that's funny & true about Costco packaging. It's all huge. I can't fit their cereal boxes in my pantry!

You can tell by looking at the address of the factory they are made in. I noticed years ago that the Kirkland batteries were made on the same street in Canada as Duracell.

If you're looking at Costco to get hammered, you either need to give up drinking, or find a way to earn more money.

i worked at costco and most of the costco brands were made in the same factory or just renamed. costco had contracts with alot of name brand comapnies. kirkland vodka is ditilled through the same company as grey goose.
