new blog - pre dating posts
 

hello everyone
I've almost got my first blog running. I'm just loading content.

Question, should I pre-date some of my posts to make it look
like i've been around for a while?? is there an advantage / dis... to this??

Doing a few backdated posts may be good to make your blog look a bit fuller off the jump. I would say set your front page to hold only 6-8 posts and do about 16 backposts total.

I don't think there are really any disadvantages to using this tactic either.

I agree with deejne. But don't go back in the past too much, cause that might make search engines suspicious.

Nothing wrong with starting out with a full page but thats as far as I would take it.
