where can I sell a domain name

I have a really good mainstream domain, I know I can get some cheese for it, how is ebay?

teksonline 12-13-2007 11:43 PM

sedo.com

ebay may not land you much. Sedo could, but they have millions of domains there so unless yours is absolutely kick ass, it is possible that you list it there and it won't sell for 5 years.

Try it on ebay, yes.

Post it here, If it's really good i'm sure you will have a taker in no time.

what's it worth?

I like godaddy's tdnam service as it is easy to work with, but the same problem of getting lost in volume is there.

you can set up an auction there with an ending date and a minimum price (don't set it too high or you won't get anyone interested)

I wouldn't even consider ebay

If yours is a premium domain then go with sedo

The bottom line is: there is no good place.

Sedo has such a huge inventory, yours can get lost.

eBay has lots of scammers and low ballers. Still, I use it for stuff I want to move fast.

Moniker auctions are the best for high end domains, true premium names, 1 worders, stuff with traffic.

:2 cents:

post it here first... :)

VIPimp 12-14-2007 01:09 AM

yep post the domain here

cincinati 12-14-2007 01:33 AM

i love sedo i have sold 3 general domains there for over 500$

All you have to do is to make your domain a featured one. I think it is worth the investment

Ebay was great for selling names back in the day, but now there's this ridiculous trend of selling turnkey sites with domain names for literally starting at a buck sometimes. It moved the entire domain business backwards real fast there. They are okay though for buying names.

Sedo is good if you have time to wait. I sold a few there for 1k and over. There is a 30 day waiting period for the money but they're solid for sure. I didn't get a lot of results from featuring, the names I sold were not featured, but it sure can't hurt I'm sure.

I'd love to hear feedback on Go Daddy's TDNam ...

Honestly probably the best way is to post on forums first such as here or the many mainstream domain forums.

I'd definitely say post it here. I posted my domain list on a few forums and can say in all honesty that probably 90% of the ones I sold came from GFY.
