Depends on what you're using it for, but normally I wouldn't suggest using a webcam at all. Get a cheap palm cam and connect to your system with fire wire.

It really depends on what your using your webcam for, if its jsut to log on and wave then those are fine, but if your looking to broadcast live webcam shows where your moving around, and flirting with the camera you need something that can handle the movement.

Logitechs are not bad but it more of the newer models that work well.

but I myself I use a video camera, that way I can record my cam shows, and zoom in, and also have great quality picture. I use a JVC-290 video camera connected with a usb video capture device.

This is just for private cam sessions with bmk. He isn't worth buying high-quality equipment for.

I use the Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000, it's a good webcam. The one you are looking at is newer, so you'll be happy with it.

Some people are saying to use a video camera, but I do not agree with this unless we are talking about a professional live cam setup with a decent lighting scheme. Otherwise I'm not seeing the benefit. The newer Logitech webcams are going to give you a lot more on-screen control. The Communicate Deluxe also has a much higher resolution (1280x1024) than a cheap video camera, so the software zoom is going to work just as well as a zoom lens to make minor adjustments around your desk.
