Just a question. Where do you want to be in 5 years? How will you achieve your goals that you want to pursue in 5 years? Yes I sound like an infommerical but oh well. Just answer the question. I'll tell you mine later.

I'd like to be out of fucking California, and travelling all over the world. Oh I've travelled before but this will be different.

I want to backpack through Europe and journal and photograph everything I see and experience. I want to live out of a suitcase and hostel, and eat at a different cafe daily. I don't want to have to worry about 9-5 anymore. I don't want the burden of waking up in the morning to figure out what I'm gonna wear. I want to live as simple as possible and snack on bread, cheese, fruit and water all day long.

I exceeded my goal within one year in this business. It was a hobby and I never wanted to do it full time but I kinda got forced into it as I just got bigger and bigger very quickly. I'm GLAD it happened, it's the BEST JOB in the world as far as I'm concerned. I think about retirement but then I think "what would I do with myself?" I'm here for the long haul - at least another 10 years I think.

my goal is to live in the south, within 10 miles of a beach.... and have a nice jacuzzi. :)

Living in a haunted house on a hill with a view of green hills and multiple hot rods in my driveway. A fat floor safe (several) filled with cash, a hydroponic garden in my second floor sunroom, an immense library with high ceilings, and a panic room (like the movie but cooler). And the computer control room/office will be tucked behind a secret spinning bookcase. Hidden.

Twelve foot tall brick walls with barb-wire around the property, surveillance cameras and a serious alarm system. Digital automated integrated everything. Surround sound and an intercom in every room.

Something like that anyhow. :)

In 5 years, I hope to be financially set and hopefully well established in at least a couple of major projects I have in mind. Damn money keeps stopping me from my dreams. Guess I shoudl stop dreaming about money. :winkwink:

But Travelling would also be great. Want to go back to London cause I loved that damn city. New Zealand is on my list, Africa, the Eastern European places, and Japan.

In 5 years I will be a lawyer specializing in "Cyber Law". I have seen so much bad shit come down on this industry with people getting ripped off and laws drawn up to shut down our Constutional Rights that I have decided to enter Law School next fall. I have the grades and also the drive to make a difference. Rather than bitch about it, I have decided to DO something about it. I will look to help out fellow webmasters and industry-related folks as my first goal, and anyone else secondly.

This is not a "money" decision, but a "moral" one. I will be taking a pay cut to enter Law compared to my current financial situation. If "money" were more important to me, I would stay put and keep "counting the Benjamins". As John Cougar said "You have to stand for something or you will stand for anything".
