Damn phpmotion - anyone here know how to install the thing?

I keep getting this error:

Code:

Warning: dl() [function.dl]: Temporary module name should contain only filename in /home/iwankne/public_html/classes/config.php on line 2
PHP script /home/iwankne/public_html/classes/config.php is protected by phpSHIELD and requires the phpSHIELD loader phpshield.5.2.lin. The phpSHIELD loader has not been installed, or is not installed correctly. Please visit the phpSHIELD php encoder site to download required loader.

You need to install phpshield first.

Just installed this a few days ago, its a little tricky, and yes make sure have all the phpmodules uploaded/turned on.

Hmm yeah I know that's what the error is saying but I have that, thing. Apparantly all you have to do is put it in a directory under your website's root and it should work. Or is that wrong?

Ah - how do I turn them on?

Jdoughs 12-13-2007 10:41 AM

php.ini.

I had support at phatservers install phpshield and activate it. Should only take them (any host) a couple minutes if you dont have access.

I've done everything I can think of. Are there any hosting gurus around who know exactly what I need to do? Running php 5.2.something

who 12-13-2007 12:50 PM

I either get errors or I get a white screen

teksonline 12-13-2007 12:55 PM

hehe you can bypass the phpshield code with a simple edit of the script..
it's about the most pathetic attempt of a encryption script I have ever seen...

It's equivalent of protecting source code is like me selling you a invisible forcefield bubble around your house...

I know this might sound stupid but have you tried uploading the phpshiled folder and all files in it in binary mode plus the classes/config.php in binary

Yep, did that. Several times. Checked file permissions several times too. It's driving me nuts. I don't know what I'm missing.

The only other thing it says on thier forum that causes this, is quoted as

"The phpSHIELD loader has not been installed, or is not installed correctly"

If you are getting this error and you know you have all the correct files uploaded etc, then you may want to check that your domain name is not setup on your server using capital letters.

Example: PhPMotion.com if this is how your domain name looks like in your control panel or on your server then you will get errors. Linux is case sensitive and domain names (hosting accounts) should not be created using capital letters. So delete the hosting account and recreate it with NO CAPS e.g. phpmotion.com

Speak to inmotion on the forum he can normally sort out problems

Let me know if you still need some help.

halfpint 12-13-2007 01:46 PM

if you want to hit me up on ICq I can go through some of the settings. Im no guru but I did install it and had similar problems with white screens.but mine was because I did not upload the correct files in binary.and and I uploaded the wrong version for the php on the server. I dont know if i can help you but I can try.

If you were hosted somewhere like Techie Media you wouldn't need to know anything because they would install it for you :thumbsup

I'm curious. What did you change with the script? I'm fairly new with learning php coding & stuff, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Would it be possible to let me know privately? It'd be much appreciated.:)
