Password protect a directory by htaccess HOW?
 

I know how to password protect a directory. But then all subdirs are password protected too. Is it possible to protect a directory, except one subdir in that directory?

example

.htaccess in
domain.com/password/

means
domain.com/password/dir1/
domain.com/password/dir2/
etc are protected too

Now I want that
domain.com/password/dir3/ doesn't ask for a user/pass

How can I do this?
