Today we look at the worst mistakes new webmasters make. Why do we look at the mistakes? We look at the mistakes so we know what needs to be avoided! Today's answers are provided by Dwreck from Webcam Cash, Vick from Kick Ass Pictures, MediaGuy from 2Much, Verotel's Michael Maisonet and Jay D and all his CrazyShit!

Dweck: Thinking it's a get rich quick scheme
Vick: Not realizing that there are many different types of sites?and strategies
MediaGuy: Not branding yourself
Michael: Designing without understanding consumer demand
Jay: Running your mouth before you can perform

Following that are some inside details about the first time people saw porn. We chat with Ariel Rebel, Loaded Mario, Shannon "She Devil" Warren, Kevsh and Benoit Le Chevallier, about 90's hair-down-there, a cartoon download gone wrong and first impressions of Bo Derek buck naked.

Any other mistakes come to mind?

Very good work buddy!

Shaze 12-13-2007 09:27 AM

masturbating to much to content instead of actually working. I think they still have the surfer mentality when first getting into the adult business and when they see all the free content they masturbate to it which gets in the way of their work and making money! :1orglaugh

mmaisonet 12-13-2007 09:45 AM

Good work Doug. Can't wait for the next episode..:thumbsup:thumbsup

I was wondering when this one was going to come up! And such a good point. Everyone in this business needs an office to go work at. Can you imagine the amount of work the industry, as a whole, would get done??

Well, we have six month's worth in the can right now. If people get value out of them, we might continue doing them... maybe a different series or two... but more video, for sure. I like them better then print interviews... they're like pictures... that move!

I didn't know you were out of TO. I could have shot you at the TO conference!

Hey, thanks tony :) I did that for many years, actually, but mostly covering business news. This is much more fun ;)

MediaGuy 12-13-2007 02:12 PM

Good damn job! I love it. Especially cause I'm in it :P heheheh.

Serious it's informative and fun, and better yet it just might get those newbs and supposedly experienced people to lo pay attention :)

Good editing, nice spread of opinion and people... when's the next?

Will you be doing this wekly, monthly?

DWB 12-13-2007 02:14 PM

How about not knowing if it's legal to shoot in the country you just packed up to go shoot in. That's an ass kicker.

Tell me there's a story that goes along with that! P-p-p-p-please!

HS-Trixxxia 12-13-2007 02:26 PM

I'm really liking this Dougie :)

Here's one of my worst mistakes in the beginning. When I started, the more I learned the more I got excited about working on this stuff. Everything I learned, I wanted to do - so I would start something and midway I would find something else that excited me and I wanted to attempt doing, so the first one got stuck on the backburner while I attempted something else.

I would find myself with 10 'projects' started and none completed. When I'd look back, I would say 'damn, I wasted time on this and it's not going to work'. My husband knew my faults so he would stop me in my excited frenzy. The deal then became that I could start new things only if I had automated or facilitated the last one for him to continue.

Andy Servers4Less 12-13-2007 02:37 PM

Those videos are good. Good work.

That's SUCH a good one! I've been terribly guilty of that myself. You really need to partner with someone who knows you and compliments you to ensure you stay focused and on track, and I'm not talking just about the husband/wife combo!

Maybe we should start a service like that?? hehe

Great interviews in the video.
I think the biggest mistake a n00b can make is be lazy! Too many people think they can slap some html code together and make big bucks...... it takes long hours of hard work!

Passion... that's the only thing that will cure laziness.

D Ghost 12-13-2007 05:26 PM

My fav: "Thinking it's a get rich quick scheme"

For all those who think it might not take any hard work and dedication! :321GFY
