Past the age of 14, have you asked for anyone's autograph?
If so, who?
I have some friends that are big into autographs. After every show they always like to wait outside to meet the members.
I never got into it myself... they are just people. |
Not that I can recall but my brother gave me a Forbes Magazine signed by Warren Buffett for my birthday a few days ago. Very cool.
OH come on now - anyone at a trade show always runs up to every friggin pornstar and centerfold trying to get them to write an autograph saying, "you were the best fuck I ever had call me please sometime"
I've asked for a few "signings" (Stan Lee on his comic books, Kevin Smith on Bluntman & Chronic #1, Chef Morimoto on his cookbook)... but I think those are different than autographs.
Never got an autograph myself. Personally I'd rather talk to whoever it is if I ever had a chance.
Lamest autograph story ever though: My ex girlfriends sister (who is lame as hell) was at a mall one time and she saw that huge guy from Everyone Loves Raymond...I think his name is Brad something. At any rate being at the mall she didn't have anything to sign so she had him sign a bill from a store. Yes, a fucking bill. When she showed me I had to laugh in her face because that is probably the lamest thing I have ever heard of anyone doing. Anyways, to each their own though. I collect cd's. I'm sure lots of people think that is a waste of time, energy, and money. I say, if it makes you happy then do it. |

Did you see the new Die Hard yet? I was laughing my ass off when Kevin Smith's character was saying that star trek was way better than star wars. I like people that are willing to make fun of themselves. |
My very first adult show back in 2000 in Toronto (the everything to do with sex show) I asked Janine and Alisha klass for autographs. I still have them :thumbsup
I used to be big into autographed sports memorabilia but only if I actually obtained the autograph myself. I have a football autographed by Dan Marino from his rookie season that is pretty special to me, that I obtained from a Dolphins/Colts game my dad took me to (they were still the Baltimore Colts then)...
Nope, not really.
On St. Patrick's Day me and my bro got the autographs of all the USHL Waterloo Blackhawks hockey team, and the coach since it was alot of the good players last year on the team, and the coach was recognized since hes irish
The only autograph I have is pretty sweet, and one of my Dad's friends gave it to me, therefore I've never asked for an autograph! It was a Wayne Gretzky singed 87 Oilers Stanley Cup championship hat.........funny enough I wore it a bunch of times, it's a bit dirty but it's still kicking!
yeah I have. Plenty of sports players since I collect

Haven't seen the movie yet... still trying to push through my Netflix list at the pace of about one DVD a week... The New Die Hard being at about the #10 spot right now - maybe I should push it up, though... :) As far as actual "autographs" go - the only ones I've ever gotten, I think, was the 1983 Atlanta Braves to sign a baseball - but I was 11 at the time, so it doesn't qualify for the question. |
Not for myself but for my mom...before he died I had John Ingman - ie Mr. Humphries from Are You Being Served sign something for her.

For awhile I was into collecting autographs and it had nothing to do with me idolizing the person. For me it was nothing more than a challenge.
I would see a magazine cover on the rack that I really liked and would buy it and see if someday I could get that person to sign it. It could be Britney Spears on the cover of Rolling Stone or Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the cover of Sports Illustrated. I just took it as a challenge to see if some day in time I could cross paths with them. I probably have around 150 autographs from Celebrities, Athletes and models. I've done the same with pictures that I've taken myself. It was something fun to do and over time I've accumulated a very nice collection with the best nicely framed and hanging on the wall. Makes for great conversation with guests. I'd like to add that all my autographs I got in person and were at a time when the person was signing. I always gave respect and would never seek an autograph from someone when they are on their own personal time. Here's one from a few weekends ago. Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer signing for the fans. http://www.thewoop.com/public_html/p...Nicklaus_4.jpg http://www.thewoop.com/public_html/p...olf/ticket.jpg |
