Al Gore's Nobel Lecture... very moving...

Al Gore delivered his Nobel Lecture on 10 December 2007 at the Oslo City Hall, Norway:

Violetta 12-11-2007 03:26 PM

Does his energy bill somehow discredit his points? No, you just like the bait and switch method. Just because you take a shit doesnt mean that you like scat.

"We, the human species, are confronting a planetary emergency ? a threat to the survival of our civilization that is gathering ominous and destructive potential even as we gather here. But there is hopeful news as well: we have the ability to solve this crisis and avoid the worst ? though not all ? of its consequences, if we act boldly, decisively and quickly."

His personal use of resources during this "planetary emergency" is very relative.

charlie g 12-11-2007 05:12 PM

It was very moving. I had to shit twice it moved my bowels so much. This guy is so full of shit I wouldn't believe him if he told me the world was round. He is a known scumbag and liar long before he hooked up with BC. He is out to turn a buck and pump up his already over bloated sense of self worth.

That could be said for 99.999% of people in North America. Your point?

Oh, nm... i see your point is to draw attention away from someone making a passionate, moving speech.

BusterBunny 12-11-2007 05:18 PM

al gore is addicted to gay porn:2 cents:

99% isn't making a moving speech while disregarding what the speech is about. That's my point. How can you take the hypocrite seriously?

The point is he is a hypocrite. Either he -

A. Does not believe his own bullshit.
B. Does not really care at all the environment and is just a posturing blowhard.
C. Believes his bullshit but thinks he is far too important to heed his own warnings.
D. All of the above.

Either way the guy is a jack off. Another rich boy that plays at politics and and is now Albert Switzer. I can't wait for GW to join him in the retarded rich boy ex-politco fuckhead club.

cykoe6 12-11-2007 05:23 PM

Al Gore is a cheap con artist. It is very hard to believe that anyone takes his blathering seriously. :1orglaugh

Lots of propaganda out there, but here a few lesser-known facts.

Both he and his wife, Tipper, work out of their home - which is four times the size average American home. :2 cents:

They also try to offset their energy use by spending over $500 extra per month in an effort to obtain their power from "green" sources.

Raw energy statistics can be misleading.

Every family has a very different carbon footprint... Gore's message is, and always has been, for people to take steps in an effort to offset their own.

Imho, I think he's doing exactly that.

Vendot 12-11-2007 06:01 PM

Al Gore seems genuine to me.

Seems like one of very few genuine doods thats been involved in US politics.

papill0n 12-11-2007 07:04 PM

Al gore has done more to raise awareness of the importance of conserving our planet than most of us combined.

Speaking of propaganda^^^^

He is still using $2500 worth of "black" power sources. He and his father have gotten very wealthy by cashing in on the political system and the influence from public office. Gore should be able to power his whole neighborhood with solar panels and windmills if he were committed to "the cause". Yet he wants to live in a mansion pontificating conservation and we are all supposed to canonize him for his great message.

Love the message, hate the messenger. Nothing wrong with conserving energy. But I sure as hell can do without the sermon from from that hypocrite.

How many times larger is his mansion than an ordinary american household? Of course a mansion is going to have bigger bills.

A guy spreads more awareness for lung cancer than anyone, leading to a surge in support and possibly a cure. Someone finds out not only does he smoke, but he was the CEO of a tobacco company. Shit man, we better lynch him for being a hypocrite!

Better example- guy raises awareness that second hand smoking kills people but continues smoking in public.

Or even better- guy raises awareness that leisure suits ruin the environment and writes books and becomes a bigshot preacher against the evils of leisure suits. Of course this guy has closets full of leisure suits and and continues to wear them because the rules just dont apply to him because he is important.

The science is faulty and gore is an opportunist. Wildfires and volcanic emissions pollute the environment on a scale humans never could. I conserve energy to save MONEY, not the earth. But if it makes you feel better, have at it.

Ah, ... ABC news, USA Today, etc ..... that was his average over a couple of years. When you make a movie telling everyone to conserve it's foolish to think someone won't check your own usage.
