Videotron. Anyone from Montreal use them?
 

Hello,

Anyone here form Montreal use Videotron cable connection? Its been about a week that after 8:30pm I cant connect to half the sites I usually do.

For example, this board no problem, Flynt cant, Adult Plat no problem, Flash cash cant. Its fucking wiered, every dam night, hard to get work done after 8:30.

Any ideas?

I've had the same problem a couple weeks ago with sympatico. Every single isp in montreal sucks ass so...

And videotron well, they're the worst. Those fuckers where cutting cables and all that. Their tech support takes forever and is useless. I hate them

Try doing a traceroute to flynt

We have a fiber optic line from videotron into our office. We've never had much trouble with it.

Try running a traceroute to the sites you're having trouble accessing, you might be able to tell where the problem is.

and now they put a 6GB limit for monthly transfers!!!

Hmm, Although I can surf this board everyones sig image is broken. I tried calling tech, they've had the same message for a week! "slow connection, bla bla bla" fuckers!!

As far as doing a traceroute, well I cant connect to the sites in question at all.

I guess they'll have this fixed soon. Id rather wait for them to fix it than go with Sympatico. Videotorn is much faster, WHEN it works, lol.

You are right. I am also with Videotron and I am having the same problems during the evening. It's been doing that for the past couple of days. My guess is that they are having problems with their servers and the bandwith. This sucks.

I am going to call tech support (even if i have to wait 3 hours listening to crap music on the phone because they only have 2 tech support representative left after they fired everyone )

I fucking hate Videotron. I wish there was another cable modem provider in Montreal.

I'm on Sympatico. They're not too smart, they're not too fast, but I despise Videotron and their god damn monopoly they have, so I refuse to use them. My friend got the Ultra Speed service from Sympatico. 3MB dwl, 640Kb upl, 10GB of bandwidth per month. nice! expensive, but nice!

I haven't heard of the problem you have though, that's weird. I wonder if they're setting up Family friendly Proxies or something like that.

Btw, I hear Sprint will have ADSL in the spring for something like $30 including modem rental.

So I'm not the only one with the slow connection, I thought my computer was acting up.

Hope they fix this soon.

Who gives a shit, if videotron tries to charge me more, I'll tell them the day my service doesn't suck ass I'll pay, wich will never happen, and plus their going bankrupt, within a year, videotron will be ran out of some guys apartment, and I'mm probably going with accessav or whatever its called, the new DSL in montreal,
and go expressvu!

I can't wait for videotron to go fuckin bankrupt. I'm on Sympatico. They're idiots, but at least they get your shit fixed faster and tech support isn't as long as Videotron's.

I dought they are going belly up. Its just a temp thing till those over paid fucks end the strike and go back on the job.

As for those "new" providers coming to town, Id stay away till they really get things settled in.

Lets just hope the labor dispute ends soon.

Got the same problem since a week.
They screw up some of my e-mail the week before.
Before that, I never had a single problem with them in 2 years.
Never had a single problem to reach the 24 hours supports in the past.

I used to be with Videotron, then I moved to ATT business ADSL. I think it is a lot better than Videotron.

I am on St. Denis and Masoneuve and I have a loft of St. laurent and Pin. A few MTL webmasters get together every week. We hope more will join us.

Same problem here..I live in Montreal...The lag starts at 4 PM (probably when people get back from work and school) and last until 11 PM, EVERY damn day. It's been this way for a week or so. Between 8 PM and 11PM, most sites won't even load at all! This is ridiculous! I keep calling Videotron to complain and I suggest you all do the same so they get their fat ass back to work. I was told they are having bandwidth issues. I wonder what they are waiting for to get more lines. And for people even thinking about trying Sympatico I must warn you it's 100 times worst!

it's cool cuz I get to know where to go hang out in laval, and in Mtl as well... 10 mins away.
