I predict it will only get worse. A lot worse.

Obviously Russia and various little countries couldn't give a fuck about piracy and don't care for the US or its capitalistic attitude and the laws born from this mode of thinking.

So as more and more of these countries gain more and more access to the Internet the problem is going to explode.

Perhaps it will come to a head in 2011 or 2012... But for now it is only going to get worse and worse.

By this time 2008 we will be wondering why people pay for porn at all.

Now the upside.

These people will be getting their porn from someone else. This will result in massive amounts of bandwidth usage. The telcos will begin to either charge people in these countries by the meg or will just stop catering to them.

I think you are right. Good thing you have 2500 active domains. Those of us with who haven't fully developed our domains yet are doomed.

The problem is that even in the US and western europe the majority of all internet traffic, according to several big upstream providers, is from the illegal transfer of copyrighted material.

What really makes me worry is the new "quality" of illegal distribution over the last years. P2P has gone commercial with all the torrent sites, then distributors like rapidshare showed up, tubes opened shop.

It's pretty similar to other illegal activities on the internet, carding, trojans, phishing, etc. It started with a few freaks and then organized criminal structures took over to monetize it.

You are right, it will get much worse if the industry doesn't find a way to cut their funding. As long as there are companies left paying the thieves for freely distributing members area content, it's a battle we can't win.

the producers just need to STOP making new porn, lol. create a porn famine. be like 'hey fagets, you want to fuck us? no more porn for you' we'll see them crying when there's nothing new for them to jack off to... :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

This industry has never been able to agree and band together on much. Hearding cats.

There is already so much porn made that I could find new and interesting things at this point, for life.
