is it enough to even out the real nightmare you experience when she hits dating age? i hope with everything i can muster that i never have a daughter. congrats to her though.

She gets married May 30, but we went out today to pick out her dress. Pretty intense experience.

I never had any nightmares with either of my kids. If your kids turn out to be fuckups, take a look in the mirror because that is the cause.

It was funny. She walked out of the dressing room and was beaming.

She stepped up onto the stage and I went up to get a closer look. She said, "I am going to cry."

I looked over to the side and there were 5 or 6 women with their daughters crying. One came up with a box of tissues. My daughter took a couple but I waved her off, saying, "I'm tough."

But I will admit it will be tough to hold them back on the big day. She really looked beautiful.

what I dont get is why do the fathers have to bloody pay for almost every thing. My daughter has been sending me emails with pictures of wedding dresses from her computer in her bedroom then puts things like "I love you dad" unbelievable

That is why we have sons, so someone else can pay for that wedding.

That is not always the case...conversely, I have known and seen parents that are fuck ups, and the kids still turned out okay.

Anyway, I met your son and he is a good man - so you did well. :thumbsup

I haven't met your daughter, but your love and pride for her are apparent, so congrats on her upcoming marriage...

I think I might shed a tear or two on my daughters wedding.

My daughter is only 10 months old, so unless we move to somewhere like Armenia, I think it will be at least 17 year's away before she even thinks of getting hitched. And by then probably marriage will be outdated as a concept anyway.
