Obama is going to be our next President!
I said it first! you can quote me on it.
|
Perhaps later in his political career, but not this election.

The guy has virtually no experience in leadership nor politics.
Even if he obtained 100% of the african american vote, he still wouldn't win. |
I think they are going to push for Hillary and Obama to be president because they are banking on Americans to vote against the Republicans regardless of who the opponent is.
As for Hillary, the only people I know that are for her, don't know her history. Obama on the other hand I know nothing about, but looks to me to be the whitest black man they could get out on to the campaign trail. |

The key is to get Generation X to put their bongs down or stop working for a second to pay their student loans off... and stop and vote.
The black vote.. and the 18-33ish vote is going to put Obama in... The BEST ticket would be if Edwards actually started getting positive policy media.. instead of pity media about his wife's situation.. He's a charismatic man.. Edwards/Obama would be a freaking LANDSLIDE if the media would show more of Edwards speeches. Kerry ruined Edwards, I'm afraid. |
I hope not.
But, I'd take him over Hillary. Heck, I'd take Kucinich over Hillary. My guess is you live on one of the coasts, because people there tend to forget about red state America, and red state America is not ready for a black President. That's not necessarily MY opinion, that just a recognition of today's political realities. Personally, I will take any Republican they nominate. Last night I watched John McCain on TV in NH, and he made alot of sense. Maybe he will team up with Huckabee, that would be a great ticket. Rudy and Huckabee would be great too. Romney is very polished, almost Kennedyesque. He would be good too. Fred Thompson seems to be losing steam. He was my favorite, but I think Huckabee has more energy and fire in his belly. |

The Dems will lose again despite all the Republican hate because they will run a frilly liberal and people want a moderate. Al Gore would beat the fuck out of everyone if he ran.

The fucking dumbness in this world is astonishing :2 cents: |
Last time I checked, it's Georgey-boy who everyone hates and he isn't running... So it's wide open.
I'm not american and don't follow american poltics too closely (only as much as is forced on me) but from what I can tell the Democrat candidates are all running on "gimmicks" and when it comes down to it, the average 'merican would rather vote in some old white dude. |

It is however a little convenient that he's black and *poof* she is backing him. And no, there has never been a front-running candidate that was black before now, not to my knowledge. If I'm wrong feel free to enlighten me on who it was. Your naivity is showing. |
I don't care who becomes president as long as they leave me the fuck alone and their policies don't fuck me over somehow.

This CDSmith guy is pretty dumb LMAO LMAO Oprah has voted for democrats and republicans.. Has black and white friends has a mixed racial audience and dosent pick out her black viewers when she gives away cars etc etc Just because you have ignorance in your mind and hatred in your hart does not mena the rest of the world thinks that way…. You remind me of the rapist guy who stated something like “ everyone wants to rape a woman” “ why else would they have sex” You had better take a second look at our country and this race and realize as others have that this will either be a turning point or a breaking point for America Oh by the way did you know that Carol Shea Porter as well as most of the white women in politics supports Obama as well http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&q=...num=1&ct=title it’s a common sense and wish for a better America thing…. Not a race thing Do you still think it’s a race thing? |
Quote:
And careful with your rapist comments, if that's the shit that's on your mind wouldn't you be better served keeping that to yourself? Just a thought. Oprah's backing of him would probably have looked a lot more credible had she also as strongly backed other candidates in previous elections. She may have voted for several and probably does have friends of all races (as do I), but when has she ever stood up and publicly backed someone so vehemently? All I'm saying is it just looks a little convenient. If you truly think her motives are 100% genuine and non-race related whatsoever then say it, and state why. Your point of view would look a lot better than the insult-riddled tirades you guys are slinging here. I never said I was unwilling to be convinced. |

And let's be clear here... I'm not saying Obama is a bad candidate, not saying people shouldn't vote for him either. Fact is, in the news and media spots I've seen of him, he comes off as quite the speaker and very personable. Despite what others say I think he is one of the few in the running worth voting for.
I just want to make sure he's being backed for the right reasons, especially by celebrity entities with huge viewerships like Oprah. Do you not think a lot of folks are going to see it as "here's the first black candidate on the scene and BAM... there's Oprah magically backing him" ?? I think a lot of people in America could view it that way. Shoot me for pointing it out all you want but wouldn't your time be better spent showing why you think her motives are pure and solely based on his fitness to be president? Think about it. And quit trying to turn what I said into me being some sort of racist, pussyserver. You tend to sling that "you're a racist" at everyone who says even the slightest thing that runs contrary to your agenda. I'm far from it actually. |

i dont like her. but i deeply respect the fact that she came from nothing, makes no excuses and has become one of the most successful black people and one of the richest people on the planet ever, with more influence over people that any black person has ever had in this country. |

Doesn't have to be a bad thing necessarily, but niether does pointing it out like I did indicate that I am... how did sweetcuties put it.... "ignorant and stupid." As you seem to be saying, it is what it is. Nothing more. If he does manage to get elected it won't matter one wit that her backing of him was a little convenient or not. But I still say your cause would go a lot further if you were to tone down your insults and racist accusations against people. Obviously some deserve it, but some do not. I doubt anyone's vote will be swayed by insults, but they might vote differently when presented with facts and reasoned arguments. Cheers. |

CD think about it? when has college students come out and supported a candidate so vehemently? When has so many philanthropist and business leaders been unified in their opinion about one candidate When would a first term senator ever have had a chance against someone like Hilary Clinton? he went against pure power ?. And is winning? don?t you think there is a reason for that? its not a coincidence its not about race People want change? people want transparency in government.. people want Barack Obama! There will be many many people voting this time time around who are completely inspired by this new direction for our country |
It wouldn't do Obama or Hillary any good to have the other as their running mate if either of them get the nom. Sad to say but if the Dems want in and either Hillary or Obama gets the nom, then they'll need a good ol' boy from the south who is middle of the road to be the VP. Hopefully Huckabee gets the repub. nom because I think (hope) that enough people are sick of the moronic christian right. I wonder which state it will be this time that the voting machines will be limited for the black community so that long lines will discourage voters... I'll go with Michigan.
