how big is the gay market

gay men make up for only 10% of the male population.
does that correlate with the money in the adult market, that goes into gay offers?
can you survive with only gay content?

After Shock Media 12-07-2007 03:03 AM

First whats up with the angry face?
Second I am fairly certain more than 10% of the population is in fact gay.
Third it has been shown that many gay men have more disposible income than straight men however this is not a hardfast rule.

Your last question is just well idiotic. Something really makes me feel you have an issue with it already and if that is the case you really would not make the money required to live on.

Shut the fuck up.

They gay market is currently 12" big. Bend over please.

spunkmister 12-07-2007 03:08 AM

you can save a lot of money by making the content yourself...Im sure if you put up an ad you will have someone to suck off within an hour or so...

the 10% is those who are openly gay, im sure the percentage is much higher if you account for all the "closet" married guys

mn 12-07-2007 03:08 AM

don't forget there's a lot of straight guys signing up for gaysites.

it's a big market, but i've never been able to do any bigger money in it. i think you must be gay yourself to understand how to market gay sites...

gay cumshot- and facialsites is easy to sell though :)

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 12-07-2007 03:10 AM

gay is HUGE... Ask BoyAlley

The Judge 12-07-2007 05:06 AM

The 10% figure was produced by Kinsey in 1948 based on inmate population. It is now believed the real number is only 2-3% However, because there so few of them its hard to get real dates so they consume more porn.

justFred 12-07-2007 05:47 AM

my gay roomate in college (no! not that kind of roomate) was under the impression that gay porn is both expensive, and hard to find.

If this person's opinion represents a significant percentage of the homosexual population, then Gay content must make plenty of money.

there are also the bi-curious men and the women who like gay porn

Fletch XXX 12-07-2007 06:32 AM

you outta see how good even Bi converts. Bisexual content sells like nothing I have ever touched once you know how to market it.

http://www.linkmytours.com/bisexual-movies.html

conversions on this tour for me have always been better than the rest.

swoop 12-07-2007 06:36 AM

gay is very big and the conversions rock!

10% "out of the closet" maybe!
the gay market rocks!

timoxxl2 12-07-2007 06:54 AM

but many adult webmasters are very reluctant to promote a gay only webcam site ... why?

Barefootsies 12-07-2007 07:06 AM

The homo market is as wide and gaping as BoyAlley's bunghole.

:winkwink:

BoyAlley 12-07-2007 07:31 AM

There is plenty of teh monies to be made in gay market, that's for sure.

Also, it's far less saturated, and tends to convert on average far better than straight.

Why do you think you've been seeing so many of the large straight programs heading into the gay markets recently? It's a largely untapped consumer base when compared to the heterosexual side of things.

As for having troubles making money. The NUMBER 1 mistake that breeders make is that they treat gay as a niche instead of as a market, which is what it is.

Learn the niches within the market, and you'll be on your way.

Damian_Maxcash 12-07-2007 07:55 AM

I would like to some stats on how many str8 men sign up to the gay sites.

From experiance its amazing how many str8s are curious at least.

Reminds me of a bad joke - Whats the difference between a str8 man and a gay one?

About 8 pints.

A lot of buyers from Gay porn are women and/or lesbians...

Taking that in mind, yes, it is a huge market..

_Richard_ 12-07-2007 12:09 PM

i would think gay content would make more money.. more taboo, more need of privacy etc

Matt 26z 12-07-2007 02:10 PM

Stick with what you know. When straight webmasters try to work in gay, it's a massive trainwreck almost every time.

If you are a straight guy who loves white, bonde haired college age chicks, what happens when you try to push fat black women? Every promo you put out there is a total shot in the dark. You have no idea at all if what you make is good or not. Right???

Then you might assume that just because you got promo materials from your sponsor that you are all good... but guess what? At a time when sponsors put out countless sites, most do not understand the niches they have paysites for either. So the sponsor / affiliate relationship is the blind leading the blind.

Now if you stuck with what you liked yourself, you'd know exactly what sponsors to use and how to sell to your fellow niche lovers.

Yeah, the ratios in gay probably are better than straight overall. On the other hand straight has litterly twenty times the traffic. So if you fuck up a little, you've got power in numbers on your side. There is very little margin for error when pushing gay. These people know what they want and can spot your bullshit. You've got to know what you are doing.

Violetta 12-07-2007 02:21 PM

the marked is more than big enough...

:pimp good read!

We have some gay visitors once upon a time and have a couple of videos with them, haven't been able to sell it yet.

But one of the bizzarest things in my life was when there was a gay production that rented the club and we shot with our remote cams the "behind the scenes"

One of the guys was straight. They had to stop the cam every 2 minutes because he was loosing a hard on banging supergay blonde twink and had to jerk with some crude porn magazine to get the hard on back. Actually one of the funniest and most unique videos we ever shot.

I just wonder what he says to his girlfriend when he brings home a pile of cash
:winkwink:

I can dig for some screenshots, it was really unforgettable..

Damian_Maxcash 12-07-2007 02:58 PM

A lot of the bigger affiliate programs lose their way with gay sites. In return the gay webmasters lose faith with those programs.

Thats exactly why MaxCash have taken me on. They realise there is a huge gay audience and that to be a real player in that market you need someone running and marketing the sites that really knows the gay scene.

We have a great new design for Ab Male coming very soon. That will be followed by new designs for the other sites we have and new gay niche sites.

MaxCash are planning on becoming major players in the Gay market.

So to answer the question, the gay market is huge.... :)

pangolin 12-07-2007 03:48 PM

If you know what you are doing the Pink £ is a good long term pension I have made all my money in adult so far on gay fetish paysites
