A new concept in hotels - japanese style cabins
 

After having spent last night at www.yotel.com at London's Gatwick airport, my home feels postively palatial:)

Liked the concept though, all mod cons, and good value for money - and the hotel is actually in the airport itself.

OK for one night, but no longer...

Saw it online a few months ago, already saw some reviews on tv bout the real jap ones, MAX 1 night yes

yep, but you can also use them for as little as 4 hours, so good if you have long delay and want to rest...

Hi DTC, actually it is below concourse before customs so bummer if you have already passed customs and then learn of delay...

Not bad. The Japs started building things like tha back in the 80's, and that is HUGE compared to what they were building.

theres one in Amsterdam thats BEHIND the customs I think thats the only one in the world, its always booked though. Easy cause you can check in leave your luggage and take your boarding bag to the hotel and go from there.

I'm 6'3'' 250, there is no fucking way I'm staying in a room that small. I don't even fit right on my couch.

Reminds me of sleeping in a motor home. No big deal.. I am 6'2, 235.

If I had a delay, and this was available, I would sure as hell take it over those shitty as chairs they have at the airport. It would feel like heaven.

I like the standard cabins best with the bed in that hole. That could be my primary bedroom in an actual house. With some changes that could be great.

emjay, that hotel DTC is talking about is not from the Yotel brand, it's just an older hotel from another chain in which you can take a room for a few hours.

Ah, ok, so concept seems to be taking off there then...

well I think that hotel has been there for 10 years or so. It's nothing like Yotel (apart from the stay duration), just regular rooms.
