what should average response time of your host be?

im talking response time after the autoreply, when you submit a ticket, I know when we call we get a tech rightaway but thats for urgent stuff, this is for regular stuff like adding domains on a ded box

oh and all the hosting trolls that come in here and say 2 secs dont were not looking for a new host

thanks :thumbsup

I am a huge fan of 24 hours live support. Can't ask for more :)

me too and thats what we have but calling or live button is ok for small stuff, not for browsing an sql base for errors or so, so Im talking submitting a ticket then autoreply then how long

Vendzilla 12-06-2007 10:27 AM

if it's minor, I use a ticket system, it gets fixed pretty quick, I haven't had anything major, but with all the reps at webair, I'm sure to find someone online that can jump right on it away and I believe they would

The Ghost 12-06-2007 10:28 AM

If it's fully managed, within 15-20 minutes

fully managed 20 mins ok, we had a few hosts over the last 4 yrs but during office hrs 20 mins I cant say Ive ever seen that

zagi 12-06-2007 10:42 AM

I would say within 1 hour for non-critical support is a reasonable time frame.

I take it you meant 24/7 support - as in "always there at any given time" type of support. Cause support that takes 24 hours to respond is useless. I was with such host once ahd I ran. Look up hostican if you want to get nightmares

GAMEFINEST 12-06-2007 11:04 AM

mine is within 10 mins

hjnet 12-06-2007 11:06 AM

I'd guess it depends on how much you pay, I have a few servers at a host where it takes 24h or more somtimes before I get a reply. But they're cheap so I don't have a problem with that.

Yep, I was thinking just that, 1-2 hours for non-critical stuff.

F U S I O N 12-06-2007 11:10 AM

I use Phatservers and I don't think Ive ever waited more than 15 minutes for someone to reply (and not only a reply but a fix as well), no matter what time of the day I email them for something

jact 12-06-2007 11:14 AM

Anything I deem as important they take care of within 10-15 minutes, otherwise I tell them it can wait in queue and it's usually done within an hour or two.

Mojohost support fucking rocks :thumbsup

RAM 12-06-2007 11:16 AM

should you become unhappy with your current host....see sig.

viki 12-06-2007 11:25 AM

With our host, reply (not auto reply, the real reply) comes in less than 5 and if it's something standard the job is done in less than 10.

You get what you pay for when it comes to support.
