Why Doesn't GFY Automatically Re-Size Pics Anymore ??

No, hes right. Larger Pics used to be the right size, and when you moused over a little box popped up with 'click here for full size image' (or similar) but it doesn't do it now...

i think texasdreams added that mod , then they upgraded the forum, and it was gone..

now td isn't here anymore to re-add it

we need a better class of poster who will resize prior to upload.

And here I thought I was losing my mind. Went to post a pic the other day and it was huge and Laurel and I had this debate on whether or not GFY would auto re-size the pic.

Turns out we were both right, then - it used to but it doesn't anymore!

i believe this one used javascript and was causing alot of the slowing down problems of gfy

For some reason this thread made me look at the bottom three banners, for the first time ever.

People with big monitors could click the pictures to make it fullsize

but those of us who use laptops thus have no choice, and no choice to "downsize"..

the other way satisfied all people somewhat, this way only satisfies some people just fine and others not at all.

Get 1600x1200 resolution on your laptop. If you don't have it then upgrade from your 2002 acer.

Yeah, that feature really sucked. I'm sure that the paying sponsors are glad that the image resizing is now gone, so now people that have never paid even one fucking dime here, can now run non-top-sponsor sig files that are the same size as a life-sized 747.

And so what if the average crack smoking user can make this site look like total shit with raw images posted at 4416 x 2720 (12.01) - aspect 13:8 (1.63 - photo), or even bigger.

you're wrong.. heh ok someone had to say it..

actually i have no idea if you are wrong or not , but i'm "pretty sure" you can't do this with "pure" css. css can't detect the images width as far as i know. You could do pictures as % , but then you would also be resizing small pics ..


if you do know of a way with pure css i would be interested though for my own sites

although your suggestion does give me a good idea that would satisfy both sides..

make a [ xxlimg ] [ /xxlimg] tag for large images then whomever makes the post gets to decide how they want it displayed
