Why Doesn't GFY Automatically Re-Size Pics Anymore ??
It worked much better when the pics posted were re-sized to fit the page... :(
|
Good question.
|
You sure that's not your browser doing that?
|
No, hes right. Larger Pics used to be the right size, and when you moused over a little box popped up with 'click here for full size image' (or similar) but it doesn't do it now...
|
i think texasdreams added that mod , then they upgraded the forum, and it was gone..
now td isn't here anymore to re-add it |
yes, i want to know when the re-size function will be back!?
|
we need a better class of poster who will resize prior to upload.
no, you don't need Photoshop to resize. I'll order a few soon as I get done chocking this nasty trouser snake. tough little bastard. while I am at it, think I will see what can be done with spelling, punctuation and those who believe "grammer" is a part of language and not referencing someones grandmother. I know it is one hell of a list, but dream big. |

It's now a GFY Premium Account only feature.
|
That feature would be good.
|
Because it fucking sucked and people with real monitors enjoy the large size images.
You ALL need bigger monitors. |
my kick ass anti resizing thread back in ythe day
http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...hlight=gameboy Fact: Resizing images on forums is gayer than any man on man booty sex Quote:

And here I thought I was losing my mind. Went to post a pic the other day and it was huge and Laurel and I had this debate on whether or not GFY would auto re-size the pic.
Turns out we were both right, then - it used to but it doesn't anymore! |

I dont see why this is a mod question... isnt it simple css settings that fix this?
I make settings like this all the time in blogs and the such... I can fix this in seconds i believe... |
i believe this one used javascript and was causing alot of the slowing down problems of gfy
personally i agree with fletch resize the shit before you upload it |
For some reason this thread made me look at the bottom three banners, for the first time ever.

but those of us who use laptops thus have no choice, and no choice to "downsize".. the other way satisfied all people somewhat, this way only satisfies some people just fine and others not at all. |
Seemed like many tweeks were tried to optimize performannce issues.gotta start somewhere

in my ideal world we satisfy everyone first.. real webmasters use the resolution their customers use.. besides 1600x1200 on a laptop is retarted unless its some monster that i dont want to lug around |

And so what if the average crack smoking user can make this site look like total shit with raw images posted at 4416 x 2720 (12.01) - aspect 13:8 (1.63 - photo), or even bigger. Thank Gawd and Jeebus for such progress!!! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
wow, texas is such a bad ass now...
its like hes turning into amp now... FUCK YOU GFY!!! anyway i still stand by the css fix that takes up no scripting and no issues.... i mean someone tell me if Im wrong... |

you're wrong.. heh ok someone had to say it.. actually i have no idea if you are wrong or not , but i'm "pretty sure" you can't do this with "pure" css. css can't detect the images width as far as i know. You could do pictures as % , but then you would also be resizing small pics .. if you do know of a way with pure css i would be interested though for my own sites |
although your suggestion does give me a good idea that would satisfy both sides..
make a [ xxlimg ] [ /xxlimg] tag for large images then whomever makes the post gets to decide how they want it displayed |
smokey hit me up. i set size limits on pics for sites every other day
|
perhaps i see the flaw in my thinking ....
ill do a little testing.... it can be done god dammit |
nope, my idea works fine...
why dont one of you guys have joe hit me up and we can sip hookers and talk CSS |
