Get one of the originals at Old Rides

Usually I knock these threads about new cars that look like the old ones. However, this car looks true to the original. Also, 500hp for $40k sounds good - if you can get one at this price.

Seems to me this is a "Pre-release". They are only making 5k cars in 2008 and then offer a lesser version in 2009? Um, isn't that backwards? Shouldn't they offer the "lesser" car first, and then upgrade it to a faster car with bigger engine the following year?

Looks nice really. Note how oranage is the most popular color for that car...

Nope...not for me.

they need money really badly

I think they are going for $30K over MSRP but that's just what I hear.

And the reason they are offering the "bigger" version now is because this car is a duplicate of the Magnum/Charger/300 SRT-8's I'd guess. Should only be 425HP, not 500. Challenger is the LY and the others are the LX. I think it's just a few inches shorter. Same 6.1L Hemi's. Only difference with next years model should be the release of the 6-speed manual.

I myself have a Charger SRT-8 and although it's 425HP that power is not really there. Had I known last year what I know now I would have spent my money on a Mustang or something that you could actually modify and buy parts for off the shelf. Hell, even a GTO.
